The Linux Foundation has updated its inclusive language guide, which recommends avoiding the use of certain phrases and words that can be considered offensive or exclusive. The guide suggests replacing terms such as "Sanity Check" with "Validation" or "Verification", "Hung" for "does not respond" or "stuck", and "Native Support" for "Core support" or "Integrated Support". It is also recommended to avoid the use of language that can be considered capacitist or violent. The updated guide is available on the website of the Foundation Software Academy (ASWF).

CCC asks Interior Minister Dobrindt to take back his "security package"

The latest plans by the Federal Minister of the Interior with a "Security Package 2.0" provide for serious new surveillance tools for police work. Among them is a repainted grid search in a police "super database" and the introduction of experimental automatic biometried data comparisons. A broad civil society alliance, including the CCC, therefore calls for the immediate end of these projects in an open letter.
