In a recent interview, Sameer Samat, Google’s president of Android ecosystem development, confirmed the company’s plan to merge Chrome OS and Android into a unified platform. It marks the first public acknowledgment of such intentions, following internal discussions revealed in late 2024. This may improve Google's competition with platforms like the iPad and provide more efficient use of engineering resources.

Google has already started technical preparations, adapting Chrome OS to run on components from Android, including a shared Linux kernel and system frameworks. Meanwhile, Android is evolving with enhanced desktop features such as multi-window support and optimized layouts for larger screens. Chrome OS is built on a customized Linux kernel and Gentoo-based tools, and comes with features like full-disk encryption, atomic updates, and read-only partitions.

So we can expect a future where a single operating system seamlessly supports both mobile and PC environments.

How to downgrade Xiaomi phone to MIUI with a locked bootloader

1. Download and extract the correct firmware for your phone

2. Download and install SP Flash
Tool 5.2044 and MTK Client.

3. Extract MTK Client and double click on "start.bat", install the drivers (Option 1), install Python (Option 2) and install Python Libraries (Option 3). After you did all that, go to Option 6 and hold all three buttons while connecting your phone to your PC via USB Cable. If you see "Press Enter to continue" you did it all right and means you are ready for SP Flash Tool.

4. Open SP Flash Tool from (flash_tool.exe) and select the Download-Agent and Scatter from your extracted firmware. They are in the "images" folder. After that, you will see something saying "Download Only", change it to "Firmware upgrade".

5. Now you can click "Download". After you see "Download ok" you can unplug your phone and start it.
