Web3 Yes? Web3 No? The Eternal Debate

Articles say "Yes" to Web 3, comments say "No".

Recently I read this article about Web3 which explains the evolution of the internet from Web1 to Web 3 and I found it very interesting. After that, I kept reading and whenever I read an article it is always quite positive things and they usually explain how good it can be and how Web3 can change the user's privacy for the better. According to articles, the Web3 is a much more secure internet where the privacy and security of the user can be maintained thanks to blockchain technology.

But every time I get into some forum comment section most of the comments are negative and criticize it. That's why I wonder if Web3 is really something applicable or if it's just a scam. In my opinion, I think Web3 is something positive and people are just afraid of change or find it hard to change. Or maybe it is that the majority of the population does not care about their own privacy and also believe that user privacy is something complex and difficult to achieve.

I would like to know your opinion and also why you have this opinion. Are you using any app or service based on Web3? Does it work great?

Fitness Trackers with the best privacy policies?

I would like to buy a fitness tracker but of course most are not privacy-friendly. What brands have the best privacy policies?

Gadgetbridge is not there yet in terms of usability so I would like to know which commercial options are the best.

Thanks!

How many years we should wait before we delete the email or phone number?

I am always changing my email address and phone number. I do this every time. But after I disable my phone number or email address (after a while) they can be used by other people.

For example: Gmail allows people to get the deleted username after 6 months. But this is dangerous. Because my old friend can send email to my old email after 6 months. The same problem exist on phone number.

For that reason I start to use new email/phone number. And after 1 year I delete the old account/phone number.

But generally how many year later we should delete the old phone number and email address? What is your experiences and opinions?

mailbox.org inbox encryption

Those who use this service, do you know how to encrypt my mailbox? I have enabled the "mailbox.org Guard" setting but there is a second setting "Inbox encryption" where we are asked to enter a public PGP key ... What should I do, enable both settings or just leave one enabled?

Eufy app not getting notifications on GrapheneOS

I'm using GrapheneOS with Google play services installed and all is good except for the Eufy app. It's a doorbell cam app. I should get notifications when someone rings the doorbell or if any motion is detected in front of the camera but I never get them. The notifications do work if I'm actively using the app or if I open it and leave it open in the background. I double checked all my notification settings in the app, gave the app unrestricted battery usage, etc... but no luck. It very well could just be something with that particular app since everything works fine. Anyone have ideas on what is going on?
