Marketplace for selling used items?

Is there a marketplace to sell used items which has decent privacy? Currently I am using eBay Kleinanzeigen (I'm from Germany) but they want more and more data. First they ask me to accept even more tracking (I can still ignore this diaoog) and now they want my phone number as well.
I am just using it to get rid of some stuff I don't use any more so I don't need a lot of features or options for commercial businesses.

Pretty much what the title says, I am primarily looking for a way to do the payments anonymously and legally without connecting it to my bank account/credit card/anything else with my name on it.

Bromite vs. Brave (Android)

I'd like to get your thoughts on these two. I'm currently using Bromite but it's not as good at blocking ads and popups like Brave. I've used Brave for quite some time, but I felt like it had unnecessary "features" let's say. Brave did feel more convienent, but I'm looking for the best privacy in my regular browser. I am aware of Tor.

Using Telegram Desktop Without a Phone?

If I install Telegram on my desktop can I use a throwaway phone to verify it and then never have to use or have access to that phone ever again? (While continuing using Telegram from my desktop.)

Also what if someone gains access to that phone number (or a phone number of Telegram's regular users) and tries to take over the account? Hypothetically, what if a nation state gains access to that number to specifically target a user's Telegram account?

I still think it's ridiculous to require a phone number. If there was an option to pay $5 to use an email address instead, I'd buy that in a heart beat.

Also, can a desktop Telegram user hide the phone number they used for verification from everyone?

'Smart homes' and privacy

Hi there,

We know what intelligent home devices are capable of. I would like to turn my home into a 'smart home', but I refuse to buy a Google nest or an Alexa.

What I'm looking for is a something that looks like the devices mentioned above, but without an internet connection. Some more things are a floor sweeper robot that doesn't send a map of your home to the company that made it, being able to turn on the lights or TV with my voice but without being recorded 24/7.

So, with all this, is there any way to achieve getting a 'smart home' without internet?

I'm done with privacy. I found a new gig.

Privacy as in the online communities talking about privacy. Like this one.

People are short sighted. Everyone is selfish and only does stuff solo. All I see is Graphene versus Calyx. Firefox versus Chromium. ProtonMail versus Tutanota. It sounds so pointless once I turn off my screen and actually go out in life.

All we do is complain and upvote dumb stuff that we use as ammo for more complaining. All the action we do is online and nobody does real action IRL like talking to congress, demonstrating, or talking to people outside of our privacy bubble.

So I'm done. I joined my local EFF chapter and have been a much more useful person. Join yours and do more privacy advocating offline!

Does the location of a WHOIS privacy provider matters?

I've noticed that some registrars like Namecheap and Porkbun, who offer WHOIS privacy, do so through a seemingly different company (Withheld for Privacy in case of Namecheap and Privacy by Design for Porkbun). And I noticed that one of them is based in the US, while the other is based on Iceland, which is supposed to be way better than the US in terms of data protection laws. The question is: Does this make a difference in how these providers operate, even if their respective registrars are based on the US themselves?
