Police have apprehended two suspects alleged to have conspired and prepared to take down the Baltimore power grid.

Brandon RUSSELL is the founder of the neo-Nazi Atomwaffen Division group, prosecutors said. According to the FBI, Sarah CLENDANIEL and RUSSELL met while they were both serving time in separate prisons. RUSSELL was sentenced to five years in prison on explosives charges, while CLENDANIEL was accused of carrying out a spree of robberies while armed with a machete, court records show.

RUSSELL, while on supervised release, communicated with a paid informant on an "encrypted messaging app." The informant claims RUSSELL put them in touch with CLENDANIEL so they could coordinate a takedown more efficiently. Whether they used secret chats or not is irrelevant, since the informant recorded voice chats where CLENDANIEL apparently exclaims how excited she is to "destroy Baltimore."
