Farsi will be a new classical language Under the New Education Policy 2020

Officially under the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, The Government of India recognises Six Languages as the Classical languages of India.

• Tamil (2004)
• Sanskrit (2005)
• Kannada (2008)
• Telugu (2008)
• Malayalam (2013)
• Odia (2014)

In addition to these classical languages Pali, Persian, and Prakrit and their works of literature too must be preserved for their richness and for the pleasure and enrichment of posterity, According to India’s National Education Policy-2020.
