β’ Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh launched Indiaβs advanced Ocean Research Vessel ORV Sagar Manthan at Rishi Bankim Shipyard, Kolkata.
β’ It has been designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, GRSE, for the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, NCPOR.
β’ The vessel will strengthen Indiaβs indigenous oceanographic and maritime research capabilities.
πΉ International Deep Sea Macrofauna Taxonomy School
β’ A five day Deep Sea Macrofauna Taxonomy School is being held at CMLRE, Kochi, from 7 to 11 September.
β’ It is organised under the Sustainable Seabed Knowledge Initiative, SSKI, of the International Seabed Authority, ISA.
β’ Partners include CMLRE, ISA, Indian Ocean Rim Association, IORA, and Koreaβs MABIK.
πΉ Aadhaar Face Authentication SDK and Sandbox Launched
β’ UIDAI launched the Aadhaar Face Authentication SDK and Sandbox at Global Fintech Fest 2026.
β’ The SDK allows Aadhaar Face Authentication to be integrated directly into Android and iOS applications.
β’ It is designed to simplify multi factor authentication, particularly for the banking and financial services sector.
πΉ New Green Hydrogen Research
β’ Scientists at CeNS Bengaluru, an autonomous institute under DST, developed a metal free approach for solar driven hydrogen production.
β’ Researchers combined aspartic acid with perylene diimide, PDI, producing self assembled nanosheets that generated nearly 18% higher photocurrent than the bulk material.
β’ The research could support future green hydrogen and solar fuel technologies.
πΉ 3D Printed Patient Specific Bone Grafts
β’ Technology Development Board, DST extended financial support to Ceramat Private Limited, Maharashtra, for commercialisation of patient specific 3D printed bone grafts.
β’ The project uses indigenous calcium phosphate based bioceramic materials and 3D printing technology.
πΉ India Expands Participation at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026
β’ India will participate in 63 of 64 skills at the 48th WorldSkills Competition, scheduled in Shanghai, China, from 22 to 27 September 2026.
β’ Team Skill India will have nearly 70 competitors.
β’ India will compete for the first time in 11 new skills, including Unmanned Aerial Systems, Aircraft Maintenance, Software Testing and Intelligent Security Technology.

β’ The Ministry of Women and Child Development launched the 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
