THE CONSUMMATION OF THE AGES
"This Age" - Mosaic Age - Old Heaven and Earth
"The Age to Come" - Messianic Age - New Heaven and Earth
But now He [Jesus] has been revealed once at the consummation of the ages for the putting away of sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (Hebrews 9:26)
These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us [first century Christians], on whom the consummation of the ages has come. (1 Corinthians 10:11)
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. (Hebrews 8:13)
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away. (Revelation 21:1)
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

THE TWO WITNESSES OF REVELATION 11
These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. (Revelation 11:4)
Were they literal individuals?
James, brother of Jesus - thrown off the pinnacle of the temple and stoned to death, just before the war.
Jesus, son of Ananus - prophesied throughout Jerusalem for 3.5 years before the war; killed by a stone from a siege engine.
Are the two witnesses symbolic?
Candlesticks represent the church. (See Revelation 1:20)
Olive trees represent Israel.
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree. (Romans 11:17)
The natural olive branches - Old Covenant Israel
The wild olive branches - Spiritual Israel/Gentiles; grafted in.
Nero was the first to persecute Christians for their testimony.

"On the eighth day of the month Xanthicus, and at the ninth hour of the night, so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day time; which lasted for half an hour. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskillful, but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes, as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it." The Monuments of Helena, Queen of Adiabene
"And at this time it came to pass that the great famine took place in Judea, in which the queen Helen, having purchased grain from Egypt with large sums, distributed it to the needy.
You will find this statement also in agreement with the Acts of the Apostles, where it is said that the disciples at Antioch, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren that dwelt in Judea; which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Paul.
But splendid monuments of this Helen, of whom the historian has made mention, are still shown in the suburbs of the city which is now called Ælia. But she is said to have been queen of the Adiabeni."
- Eusebius, Church History, Book II, Chapter 12, Helen, the Queen of the Osrhœnians

Did you know that at Passover in 66 AD, a heifer gave birth to a lamb in the midst of the temple as it was being led to the altar?
Not only was it a sign of the impending wrath of God, but it was also a reminder that just 37 years earlier, the final sacrifice, the only begotten Lamb of God was crucified by this same wicked generation of jews, in Jerusalem, at Passover.
"At the same festival also, a heifer, as she was led by the high priest to be sacrificed, brought forth a lamb in the midst of the temple." - Josephus, Wars, 6.5.3-4

"At that time also there was a writing found graven in an old stone 'What time the building of the temple shall be brought to a foursquare then it shall be destroyed.' Now when the Antochia was taken and razed by the Romans and the walls of the temple were all bruised, the jews making speed to repair the ruines and dilapidations, without remembrance of the old writing, they made the temple foursquare. Besides these words were found in the walls of the Sanctum Sanctorum 'When the whole building of the temple shall be foursquare, then shall a King reign over Israel, and that King and Ruler shall reign over all the Land of Israel.' Some interpreted this of the king of Israel, but the priests said, It is the king of the Romans."

The mosaic above is at the entrance to the grotto in which John is thought to have received his revelation. Recording the visions is John's disciple Prochorus, one of "seven men of honest report" mentioned in the Acts 6:3-5. In the pseudepigraphic Acts of John by Prochorus (2nd cent AD), the author relates how John, having prayed and fasted for 3 days, commanded him to
"'Take the paper and ink and stay on my right side.' I did what he told me and suddenly a huge lightning struck and a thunder so great that the mountain shook and I fell face down on the ground..'My child Prochorus, whatever you hear from my mouth, write on paper!'..Then again after a few days John saw our Lord Jesus Christ in a vision telling him: 'Go up to the mountain and I will reveal to you the mysteries great and horrid, that will happen in the future'" (XX)
After dictating for 2 days and 6 hours, John & Prochorus returned from the mountain and transcribed what had been written from papyrus to parchment to be sent to "all the churches."

"Is it not excessively ridiculous to seek the good opinion of those whom you would never wish to be like?" - St. John Chrysostom
Stop seeking the opinions of evil people.
Stop seeking the opinions of degenerates.
Stop seeking the opinions of those who murdered Christ.
Stop seeking the opinions of jews.
