A note for the IFoS appearing candidates (2025)-

45 Days to IFoS: From Surviving CSE to Securing an All-India Service

1. The toughest and the most competitive phase (prelims) is already behind you — and if you survived CSE mains, you definitely have the stamina for IFoS.

2. 45-60 days (from now) is short but enough if you stay focused; remember, most competitors are in the same boat.

3. Make optional subjects your top priority — 70% of time must go here, as they decide selection.

4. Also don’t ignore English and GK papers; with daily practice they can become easy scoring papers. If you are unavailable to give time daily as of now, reserve 4-5 days for them towards the end.
Also, if there will be demand from the aspirants, we will conduct a group session on how to tackle the IFoS English paper in 2nd week of November

5. Rely on concise notes and PYQs — smart study >>>> endless slogging.

6. Write at least 2–3 mock tests for each optional and 1-2 each for GK and English to train your speed and structure.

7. Use flowcharts, diagrams, and precise definitions in answers — they create instant impact.

8. For GK, mandatorily revise environment and science basics — don’t chase exhaustive coverage.

9. Practice one précis daily in the last week; be thorough with letters' format; these small steps add 20–30 marks advantage.

10. Keep your mindset sharp and positive — IFoS is an All India Service with prestige and security, worth every extra effort now.

Stay disciplined: plan each day, keep distractions away, and revise till the last week.

Remember: many give up after CSE — your persistence in these 45 days can be the real differentiator.

Dear students a few pointers regarding the test series:

1. Enrollment and payment page is now live as informed

2. There are 4 variants: half yearly (with and without mentorship), full yearly (with and without mentorship)

Without mentorship variant also has one monthly mentorship session included with one of our experts

3. Once you get enrolled you will be able to login into the student portal - there you will get all resources like QP, QCA booklet, model answers, option to book mentor slot, analytics wrt your progress etc

4. There is flexibility to write the tests till mains 2026 - though your mentor will always motivate you to write them as per schedule or as per your customized schedule

We have been receiving various queries wrt test series. l am giving a consolidated response to all of them here:

1. Whether I should join a test series at this point of time - so in most cases of you, I would say yes. The reason is actual improvement in your answers will come in this lean period only when you have ample time to discuss your answers with your mentors.
If you just do writing practice in between prelims and mains, the focus shifts entirely on completing the paper, rather than improving quality.

2. However, there might be a small proportion of you, who have already done a mains test series somewhere else in a sincere manner, but at the same time have not been able to pass through prelims in over 3-4 attempts - In that case we would recommend to focus on the prelims instead.

3. Is the mentorship in Lakshya program limited to mains - The answer is No, mentorship variant will cater to both mains and prelims preparation

4. Will there be group discussions with the mentors - Yes, apart from 1-1 individual mentorship session with the mentor, there will be a monthly zoom session with mentors (irrespective of whether you have joined the mentorship variant or without mentorship variant) which will be kind of a 2 way communication between mentors and students.
