In March 42 immigration judges were announced; in April it was 32. In May, this week, 80 new immigration judges have been onboarded, the ‘largest-ever’ class at once.
This is 15 months of deliberate hiring work. Anyone saying the admin gave up on deportations neglects the structural and systemic effort we have to make sure mass deportations happen in an efficient, long-term manner while mass importation by asylum etc. stays cut off.

Migrants here for temporary reasons will largely no longer be allowed to wait in America while pursuing permanent status. Hundreds of thousands of aliens use adjustment of status as permission to squat here; now they'll be directed to go home first and get vetted, then processed. Which could keep them out for years, hopefully forever.

President Trump firmly refuses to insult the Chinese by saying we don't want their students, as his policies cut foreign students throughout 2025 and 2026, especially Chinese, with new restrictions pending

Positive remarks by President Trump on immigration do not mean or result in policies to help immigrants.
On foreign student visas, H-1Bs and DACA, etc. the admin continues to make it harder than ever for legal immigrants to stay or enter despite Trump's statements.
