President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill made ICE so large that its enforcement wing has gone mostly unaffected by the govt shutdown and repeated lawsuit attempts. ICE under Trump has so much cash that it is effectively shielded from Congress interfering with operations, altho ICE and the DHS deserve much more money to go even harder this year and the years after.
