— Expand the PAA on your target query, log every question that surfaces (they rotate, so grab 3 passes).
— Each PAA answer IS a snippet draft — Google already picked a source. Note who, note the format.
— Build one H2 per PAA on your page, answer in their format under each.
— Keep each answer 40-55 words, self-contained, no cross-references.
— Ship as a single deep page, not five thin ones.

Why it matters: PAA shows you pre-qualified answer slots competitors already validated. You're not guessing format — you're copying a confirmed winner.

Spotted this morning in a teardown: a 'best tools for X' page using <ol> kept losing the box to a rival on <ul> for the same intent.

The distinction we keep seeing confirmed:

— Numbered/ordered list box → sequence matters (steps, rankings, chronology). Use <ol>.
— Bulleted/unordered box → parallel items, no sequence (ingredients, features, options). Use <ul>.

Mismatch the markup to the intent and the extractor downgrades you. A non-ranked 'types of' query in an <ol> reads as a false sequence; reportedly Google quietly prefers the page whose list semantics match the question. Cheap fix, rarely audited. Watching this.
