βIt has been over 72 hours since five strong individuals chained themselves to the pillars of Johnson Hall. Admin has given zero response and shown they care so little for their students that they would rather leave them chained to a building all weekend then come out and listen to them.β

Students across Bucharest launched the first Gaza solidarity encampment in Romania earlier today at the University of Bucharest Faculty of Psychology and Educational Studies yard. In addition to disclosure and divestment, they are calling on their universities to establish ties with Palestinian academic institutions. Although state and local police officers arrived on the scene, they shortly dispersed after organizers communicated their demands.

An update from organizers at The New School:
The New School encampment has secured a public commitment to a divestment vote within the next month by its Board of Trustees, something that every other governing body of the school has voted overwhelmingly in favor of. As part of this agreement they have ended their 6 day occupation of all 7 stories of the Lama Jamous Center (72 5th Avenue). The students, faculty, alumni, and community members who make up the encampment group remain committed to continuing to fight for academic boycott and the other demands of their encampment. In lieu of the rally that they had scheduled for May 20th they are picketing school's benefit gala on the 21st. Making it clear that they will continue to be militant over divestment until the board votes yes. The administration will not have peace until Palestine has justice.

Nine international comrades are currently being held under administrative detention at the Amygdaleza Deportation Camp in Greece, awaiting deportation.
On Tuesday 14 May, 2024, 28 people were detained after protestors de-occupied the Athens University Law School to call for the academic boycott and divestment. The 28 people, including 8 non-Greek European passport holders and 1 non-Greek British passport holder, were consequently transferred to Athens police headquarters and detained overnight before appearing in court the next day.
The court session was brief and consequently postponed until Tuesday 28 May, due to the ineptitude of the Greek police and legal system, which failed to provide relevant translators and witnesses. The court session was adjourned and all 28 members were declared free, pending the court session on May 28.
Upon the court's adjournment, the 9 non-Greek protesters continued to be handcuffed and held at the court house, despite protest from the people and their legal representatives. An officer then informed the legal representatives that the 9 individuals would be further investigated to assess the legitimacy of their right to remain in Greece. The 9 were then kidnapped from the courthouse and forced onto a bus by undercover police in civilian clothing. Soon, they found themselves at the processing center for asylum-seekers awaiting deportation in Greece.
Upon contact with lawyers, the European and British citizens learned the Greek State's central security department had declared them a danger to state security, placed them on the national list of "unwanted aliens" and issued orders for deportation to their countries of origin.
The Greek State has long deported and demonized asylum seekers, those without papers, and refugees, treating them as βoutside agitators.β From Fortress Europe to the U.S.-Mexico border, fascist regimes have invested billions of dollars into Zionist-manufactured military surveillance technologies from companies like Elbit Systems that fuel xenophobia, social engineering, and militarism worldwide. All of our liberation struggles are intertwinedβLONG LIVE INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY
