๐ต๐ธNAKBA DAY DISPATCH๐ต๐ธ
Today marks 76 years of the ongoing Nakba. Today marks 76 years of resistance to the zionist entity. Today, bombs rain down on the starved and besieged Jabalia refugee camp, the birthplace of the first Intifada, a punishment for the unyielding resilience of the Palestinian people, who are closer than ever to liberation.
As Kaleem Hawa of the Palestinian Youth Movement wrote today: โZionism is the catastrophe.โ The Nakba is not an event, calcified in the archiveโit is a structure, an ongoing settler-colonial project sponsored by the most powerful empire on the planet.
โThe movement is stronger than ever, more militant, more connected to the working class, to labor, to the students, whose encampments have bravely resisted their citiesโ counterinsurgency strategies. Because of this work, the contradictions have become undeniable, an American left has been injected with new energies and now circles the fascists and their mercenaries.โ
This Nakba Day, a solemn memorial to our martyrs and a celebration of their concrete commitment to liberation, we must spread the fire Gaza has ignited from the campuses to the streets, from the ivory tower to the embassies, from the students to the masses.
Embody the spirit of the courageous stone throwers, the freedom fighters, the elders who remain unbowed, feet rooted to their land like so many olive trees, those who brandish tools born out of revolutionary necessity. Embody the undefeated spirit of the children facing down tanks and bulldozers.
This Nakba Day we honor all our martyrs, and we promise to avenge them in life and in death. The empire will burn! By the millions, we will return!

๐Irvine anti-genocide protesters have the right idea.
Consider: frontliners can hold reinforced banners (long plywood with back handles and sheet stapled atop).
Umbrellas can be used as visual block and to cover from pepper spray and projectiles.
Behind, rather than locking arms, protesters can support the frontliners by the shoulders, pushing as a bloc against police lines, ready to bearhug anyone who might get snatched by the pigs.
Then: light magicians and range warriors.
Comms support sit in air-conditioned rooms (iykyk).

During the graduation ceremony of Washington University in St Louis, a โprofessorโโseen here standing between commencement speaker Jennifer Coolidge and Board of Trustees Chair Andrew Burksyโwas identified as police officer Elvir Ikeljic.
Not only have the complicit university administrators called the police on students, now they are giving them pretend doctorates so they can hide in plain sight. SHAMEโผ๏ธ

The students and faculty of The New School have for fully occupied all 7 floors of the Lama Jamous Center (72 5th avenue) for four days, sitting atop one of main arteries of capitalism in America, the most expensive and high end shopping street in New York City.
The building, normally used as the nexus of administration for the school, is completely under control of New School faculty and students, with them determining who is allowed access.
Tonight, the encampment, the last in NYC, prepares for a possible sweep tomorrow morning as graduation ceremonies are completed and the semester is at an end.

The Institute of Politics remains de-occupied, despite police attempts to remove protesters. Students are demanding divestment from Israeli apartheid, and connecting this liberatory demand to anti-gentrification and abolitionist demands in Chicago.
All power to the students! Get down there and support your comrades if you can!
