TEACH-IN ANNOUNCEMENT:
We are launching teach-ins on critical anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist topics all week at the Gaza solidarity encampment in Dunn meadow. Today starting at 6:30 PM we have the following teach-ins:
1: โ#FeesMustFall: student organizing and decolonizing academic institutions in post-Apartheid South Africaโ
2: โGeographies of Hope and Liberationโ
3: โMake Good Trouble: Decolonizing our Valuesโ
Our teach-ins are for the people. All are welcome to participate, learn, and contribute. Political education is important to our movement for a liberated Palestine. We must understand the imperialist world-system we face and how best we can fight against it โ๐ต๐ธ

๐ต๐ธ DAILY DISPATCH (4/29/2024) ๐ต๐ธ
Palestine has its eyes on us. Journalists in Gaza have been addressing students of the popular university, imploring them to seize this historic moment. Hind and Bisan have reminded us that we must do more! We cannot lose sight of the stakes. As the semester nears its end, and the US-funded genocide continues, we all know that the time to act is NOW.
Dozens of new Gaza Solidarity Encampments have emerged over the past 48 hours. Across campuses and encampments around the world, students and community members have begun to escalate. The cutting edge of the movement is Cal Poly Humboldt, who today announced they had liberated not one, not two buildings โ but the entire campus, all while rejecting the arbitrary and counter-revolutionary distinction between students and so-called outside agitators.
At Reed College, Princeton University and the New School, the movement took three more struggles from the quads to the buildings. UT Austin, the DMV collective encampment, and the University of Illinois have demonstrated that with superior numbers, well-honed strategy, and a steadfastness rooted in the necessity of our struggle, we need not submit to violent police intimidation.
And in a touching show of support, Columbia faculty surrounded their students to protect their encampment from police invasion. We salute all the supportive educators, and to them we say: STRIKE!
Earlier today, National SJP, the Palestinian Youth Movement, and Writers against the War on Gaza echoed the call from Gaza for a faculty strike and tactical escalation starting May 1st. Spread the news: STRIKE!
We know the complicit university administrations are hoping to wait us out, but we refuse to lose momentum to stalled negotiations; we will not settle for anything less than a free Palestine!
ESCALATE FOR GAZA NOW!

The encampment stands. This morning, a violent police sweep took down all the tents. A community rally re-established them, and the school agreed to allow the tents to remain through the night. Twenty students who were detained were released (instead of being arrested). We keep us safe!

OccupyPSU takes the library, becoming the fifth new building occupation of the day!! From @occupypsuforpalestine:

MEMORIAL LIBRARY NOW BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE FOR PALESTINE. we will not leave until demands are met. once it is secure, any student will have access to study, get resources, eat warm food, sleep somewhere dry, attend teach-ins, and be in community. Look out for more things we are posting in regards to activities!! We do not want to hurt our fellow peers - we simply refuse to be complicit in genocide. In addition, no books will be harmed. Period. We hope to see fellow students out here and begin building our People's University for Palestine. ๐ต๐ธ
