The annual mean global near-surface temperature for each year between 2023 and 2027 is predicted to be between 1.1°C and 1.8°C higher than the 1850-1900 average https://perma.cc/4CTM-3S33
In 2021, the global average temperature was 1.1 °C above the pre-industrial baseline, according to the provisional WMO report https://perma.cc/2MXE-PA3V
The annual average temperature in 2021 was 0.2 °C below the average over the normal period 1991–2020 (+1.1 °C compared to the reference period 1961–1990). Globally, the year 2021 showed a deviation of +0.8 °C from the 1961–1990 norm.
The long-term Swiss temperature development 1864-2021 shows a clear trend towards increasingly warmer tempera- tures in all seasons. The annual average linear trend is 1.4 °C per century or 2.2 °C over the entire measurement period.

Wildlife populations - mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish - have seen a devastating 69% drop on average since 1970, according to WWF’s Living Planet Report (LPR) 2022
Latin America shows the greatest regional decline in average population abundance (94%).
The average abundance of 6,617 freshwater populations across the globe, representing 1,398 species, declined by 83%.
The global abundance of oceanic sharks and rays has declined by 71% over the last 50 years, due primarily to an 18-fold increase in shing pressure since 1970.
By 2020, three-quarters (77%, 24 species) were threatened with an elevated risk of extinction. For example, the oceanic Whitetip Shark has declined by 95% globally over three generation lengths, and has consequently moved from Vulnerable to Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List.
Unless we limit warming to 1.5°C, climate change is likely to become the dominant cause of biodiversity loss in the coming decades

LET WE CHECK THE POLLUTION MADE BY FOOD PRODUCTION AND CONSUME
Overall, our estimates of GHG emissions from food systems account for 35% of global total anthropogenic GHG emissions. Production-based GHG emissions 185 from plant-based food amount to 5,109 ± 1,436 TgCO2eq yr−1, 186 which is 29%. Production-based GHG emissions from animal-based food are 9,796±850TgCO2eqyr−1, which are 57%. roughly 16% and 17% of global total GHG emissions were transferred among regions due to the import and export of food, here plant- and animal-based food.
The most prominent emitting regions for animal food production are SA (14% of total food-related emissions), SSEA (9%) and CM (8%) (Fig. 2a). China (8%) in CM, Brazil (6%) in SA, the United States (5%) in North America (NA) and India (4%) in SSEA are the countries with leading GHG emissions from the production of animal-based foods (Fig. 4).
South and Southeast Asia (SSEA) have emitted the greatest food-production-related emissions (23%). However, this region has low per-capita emissions and is the only one where plant-based emissions are larger than animal-based emissions. South America (SA) is the second-largest emitter (20%) and has the largest emissions from animal-based food.
SSEA and China and Mongolia (CM) are the top GHG-contributing regions for plant-based food production and contribute 11% and 6%, respectively, of total food-related GHG emissions.

The age-and-sex-adjusted mean (95 % confidence interval) GHG emissions in kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalents per day (kgCO2e/day) were 7.19 (7.16, 7.22) for high meat-eaters ( > = 100 g/d), 5.63 (5.61, 5.65) for medium meat-eaters (50-99 g/d), 4.67 (4.65, 4.70) for low meat-eaters ( < 50 g/d), 3.91 (3.88, 3.94) for fish-eaters, 3.81 (3.79, 3.83) for vegetarians and 2.89 (2.83, 2.94) for vegans https://perma.cc/Y8NX-8NZC
