When we were Alive




The simple things 

that made us laugh, 

are the precise things

those very sweet things

that dreams are made of

Oh how can we - truth be said, 

Decide for later, no longer here

when we are all 

but good and dead ? 


If death were final and 

at all real, 

then impossible to recall.. 

a life, a name sense or smell 

And so it was - so it must be, 

your presence so sublime it was 

to strive, to help, 

so that we may know, 

reveal we cared, yet dreamed of

these then are the things 

that cut through

travel space and time 


Remember this - tell your child

remember son - when we were Alive 


I do, I do it cannot fail

at all thereafter, or be erased

Forever etched in memory banks

Aside from this game of life, 

controlled perhaps - 

yet never phased

For me for you, all of us

we honour and give dutiful thanks 


Remember this we live not once

Many lives recorded chance, for.. 

When we were Alive 


I do I do, that eternal dance

of life and death. 

No despair 

We lived our souls through every breath 

I loved you, I was there

I saw you

It matters now to say these things 

as with all else, 

this will be - recorded too 


On the grand scale but overall 

you and I relived 

once again, met again, 

sensed that we remembered.. 

a fleeting moment if compared

almost a whisper that disappeared..

But of all those very sweet things

subconscious perception of

none were ever indiscreet 

then life itself ? 

the things that dreams are made of

though remember this.. 

Find a way, any way at all 

Surpass that which inhibits 

mental communication, 

For Love, it would pass 

through all dimensions 


To then express once again 

and reveal..
