In the video of the post, you can see the raw/exclusive footage of this attack. This Russian "cavalry charge" took place on January 7th, at approximately 13:00, very roughly on the T-0504 highway between Stupochky and the forest east of Kostyantynivka (the general area is represented by the white square in picture #2)
Lately there have been quite a few such events, where the Russians made use of horses in attacks on the front in different directions of the front, but in this sector it's the first time.
I'll also take the chance to say that, regarding the Kostyantynivka direction specifically, and in my personal opinion, I expect it to soon undergo a period of very heavy pressure from 3 sides, with almost constant Russian attacks everywhere and extremely heavy suppression and flattening of the city with various means of destruction. The T-0504 highway is absolutely a possible route of attack (that the Russians are already using very often).
Also, we're seeing a significant increase in Russian activity just north of Chasiv Yar, which doesn't seem very encouraging, where they also brought in fresh reinforcements.

Kostyantynivka direction, Berestok sector.
Today, no Russian activity was recorded inside Illinivka or near Berestok along the same routes marked in the post I'm responding to.
On the other hand, Russian drones are engaged in a high-intensity remote mining operation of many important roads of southwestern Kostyantynivka (roughly marked with a red circle) and the roads leading to Illinivka from there, in an attempt to limit Ukrainian freedom of movement and response to possible Russian attacks in this area.
The weather is very muddy again, which makes it very hard to move in fields and treelines, but in some days temperatures will go back to even -17°C.
Such cold temperatures are unusual even for this period of the year. The same goes for the fact that almost every week the temperatures fluctuate by even 25°C.

Так выглядит Днепропетровск после вчерашних ударов по энергетике. В городе до сих пор практически отсутствует централизованное электроснабжение, а как следствие, во многих домах водоснабжение и отопление.
При этом, ситуация в Запорожье, которое также вчера подверглось временном блекауту, уже лучше - в течении дня противник смог восстановить электроснабжение ключевых объектов и многих домохозяйств.

Pokrovsk - Dobropillia general directions (02/01 - 08/01).

Pokrovsk - Myrnohrad directions: In western Pokrovsk, Russian accumulations in the Durniak residential area are committed to assaults through the industrial area over the railway and further north near Hryshyne, with unknown results.
Last week, the Russians also accumulated in very large numbers in the Dinas district (orange box), from which they committed to assaults westwards and northwards. There are some signs of Russian consolidation, especially near the northward vectors, but I wouldn't say they're worrying for now.
In Myrnohrad, there has interestingly been basically no Russian activation or attacks in the period taken into account.
Streams of Russian assault groups of various sizes continue to be recorded while passing through Krasnyi Lyman's buildings, which conveniently fuse into Rodynske's.
They also attack from the Krasnolymanskaya mine into the town center.
In general, there are no serious signs of Russian consolidation, but the quantity of Russians in the area seems quite high. They were also able to penetrate in the former mine "Zaporozhskaya", just west of Rodynske, with unknown results.
In the Dobropillia sector, Russian forces have been trying to attack the fortified railway line frontally, with unsurprisingly bad results, and even trying to infiltrate behind it through the open fields towards Bilytske.
They mostly come from Suvorove (Zatyshok).
Just north, the Russians attacked Dorozhnie heavily again last week, coming from the forests near Nykanorivka and Nykanorivka itself, mainly moving through ravines and bushy/forested areas.
A large volume of Russian movement was also recorded west of Shakhove, where Russian forces infiltrate in chaotic patterns a bit everywhere and where they seem to be trying to simply go as far north as possible, for example, towards Vilne and Kucheriv Yar.

Вдалі стабілізаційні дії СОУ на півночі Купʼянська фактично відкинули противника на 2 роки назад, в контексті битви за місто; в результаті зачисток основні сили противника відкинуті до рубежів Синьківки, за яку ще в 2024 противник клав гори трупів та броні.
Остаточна зачистка - справа мінімум ще місяця; то вже більше історія про підарів, котрі чекають своєї смерті по підвалах, проте і на них потрібно чимало ресурсу та часу.
Проте проблема всього Купʼянського напрямку вже не скільки в обстановці навколо міста, а в кармані навколо Купʼянська-Вузлового, куди заїзд по ту сторону Оскола - це ще те казіно.

За думкою ворожих пропагандонів, мо рф та деяких наших вітчизняних "осінтерів", Часів Яр вже повністю захоплений російським окупантом.
Тим часом, до вашої уваги мапа міста.
Часік доволі розтягнутий. З великою кількістю зеленки та приватного сектора на півдні.
В зеленці зараз особливо не накопичишся, бо зима на дворі.
Тому там в тому числі 24 ОМБр та інші підрозділи СОУ дають смачно прикурити окупантам.
Контроль міста зараз на рівні 20%, ще 10-15% - це кілл зона, і ще стільки ж - сіра зона.
Так що по місту ще далеко нічого не завершено. Бої тривають і будуть тривати.
Звісно, містом це вже важко назвати - скоріше, руїнами колись невеликого та затишного містечка.

Today Russian forces continued their remote drone mining of the same area circled in red that I indicated yesterday, and are also hunting for Ukrainian UGVs (ground drones).
In general, the Russians maintain air superiority. Russian drones hit something almost every 2 minutes
Today the weather was also clear, so the Russians slowed down a bit their infantry movements because of unimpeded Ukrainian drone work.
Now the temperatures there are around 5°C.
Today Russian forces continued their remote drone mining of the same area circled in red that I indicated yesterday, and are also hunting for Ukrainian UGVs (ground drones).

Update: Russian forces are attacking Stepanivka from the west and south but get stuck and eliminated in the anti-tank ditches or in the open fields. Nonetheless, they managed to enter Stepanivka, where they now have a presence; the situation is under clarification.
The Russians are assaulting Predtechyne and are also trying to pass on the dominant hill north of the settlement, in correspondence of the Kostyantynivka - Bakhmut highway, and also the easternmost part of the forest east of Kostyantynivka.
Corrections: corrected the gray zone to Illinivka, which does not pass through the former blockpost west of Berestok, but rather just west of it.
Enlarged the gray zone up to the southernmost outskirts of Berestok.
Ukrainian forces continue maintaining a solid presence in Predtechyne.
Russian forces consolidated at least in part of Stupochky.
According to preliminary information, Russian claims of entering Novodmytrivka are not true. The situation is under clarification.

FPV-дрони в Дружківці та її околицях поступово починає ставати сумною реальністю; коли знищення Костянтинівки триває в самому розпалі і скоро від міста залишиться лише груда каміння, в той же час КАБами та FPV-дронами вже починають знищувати Дружківку та все живе в ній - такі вони сучасні умови війни…
У противника немає спроб та бажання штурмувати ту ж саму Констаху в лоб, виключно обхід населеного пункту(в ідеалі всієї агломерації) з уникненням міських боїв.
