I add a color gradient and set it to overlay and reduce the opacity. I play around a lot with angles here. I will often also do a multiply gradient to transparent to add an overall shadow. However, I think the overlay is enough for this piece. I also added a pink background. Now we are nearly done!

And the finished piece! I did ultimately add a multiply layer and shading under the horse. Obviously backgrounds involve a bunch of extra steps. I crop the canvas as all my drawings start on an 11x11 square, added some details and my signature. I tried to get the signature to look like it was carved into the wood using offsets and multiply layers.

Ya'll both my paws are borked 🥺 ... nerve pain and joint pain in left hand going on 2-3 days and today I woke up and my right wrist hurt and got worse and worse on my day job and now there's a huge bump on the hand and I guess I slept on it funny or injured it somehow but I can't click or scroll and wehhhhh 😭

Re hand: voltaren plus my night brace and day brace has it semi functional. At least I don't need to take the day off people work!
