Google released a bunch of short videos comparing Pixel to Apple
The Made by Google channel on YouTube has released a bunch of short videos showcasing the features of Pixel devices, similar to the old Mac vs PC ads from Apple.
Five minute-long #BestPhonesForever videos showcase various features present on Pixel phones, which Apple does not have, such as: Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Battery Share, VPN by Google One, Night Sight and a folding device.

Pixel 8 series to support Desktop Mode

A source inside Google tipped Kamila Wojciechowska that the Pixel 8 series will support USB DisplayPort alternate mode which would allow you to connect displays using USB-C.
This feature could be used for a Desktop Mode, similar to Samsung's DeX or Motorola's Ready To feature.
While Android already has some support for the desktop mode, Mishaal Rahmann has discovered improvements to it in the launcher code found in recent Android 14 betas. He also spotted support for USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode.

Google has released the factory images for the Pixel Fold. You can download the build it came from the factory or the day 1 patch based on QPR3 with the June 2023 security patch.

BREAKING: Youtube to Block users using Ad Blockers

Google is fighting against third-party apps or ad blockers on YouTube to encourage people to get YouTube Premium.
To fight against this, YouTube is testing a 3 Strike Policy where it will get disabled after watching 3 videos with an adblocker.
They say they take disabling video playback “very seriously,” and will only disable playback after users repeatedly ignore requests to disable adblocking on YouTube.
In case of false flags, you can share the feedback by reporting the issue.
If YouTube Premium is expensive in your country, try using a VPN to countries like Turkey, India or Argentina and subscribe to a family or student plan for less.
The family plan costs only .5$ per person per month if subscribed in India.

Here's a real life image of a Google Pixel 8 Pro. The device is a Design Validation Test prototype with some internal stickers on the device.
One of the stickers have "zuma" on it which is the Tensor G3 codename. The device itself has 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of SKHynix UFS storage.
The leaker claims to have gotten it from the device team at Google for testing.

Pixel Fold did not survive JerryRigEverything's durability test

Zack from JerryRigEverything has gotten his hands onto a Pixel Fold to test its durability.
In his test, the cover display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus scratched at level six with deeper grooves at level seven which is normal.
On the other side, the main display started scratching at level 2 with fingernails being able to leave a mark on the display's screen protector similar to other foldables.
The Fold shut down after a few seconds of heat being applied to the main display, which was never seen before on other devices.
Sadly, the phone did not pass the bend test as it snapped in half while bending the other way with no stopper that prohibits you from doing this.
Google advertises the "most durable hinge in a foldable", which may be true as it did not snap in half with the antenna lines being the faulty part in the design, maybe next time it'll do better?
