Pixel 8 series wallpapers leaked — here's a list of them

Kamila Wojciechowska has decided to leak the Pixel 8 wallpapers made by artist Andrew Zuckerman.
The wallpaper theme of this year are Minerals (not rocks, Marie!) and match Pixel 8 and 8 Pro's color variants with light and dark variants available.
Kamila has also leaked the internal names of the colorways, which may be changed for the final marketing:
Pixel 8: Haze, Jade, Licorice, Peony
Pixel 8 Pro: Jade, Licorice, Porcelain, Sky
You can download the wallpapers right here, but note that it's possible that not all of these color options will reach mass production.

Google released a bunch of short videos comparing Pixel to Apple
The Made by Google channel on YouTube has released a bunch of short videos showcasing the features of Pixel devices, similar to the old Mac vs PC ads from Apple.
Five minute-long #BestPhonesForever videos showcase various features present on Pixel phones, which Apple does not have, such as: Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Battery Share, VPN by Google One, Night Sight and a folding device.

Pixel 8 series to support Desktop Mode

A source inside Google tipped Kamila Wojciechowska that the Pixel 8 series will support USB DisplayPort alternate mode which would allow you to connect displays using USB-C.
This feature could be used for a Desktop Mode, similar to Samsung's DeX or Motorola's Ready To feature.
While Android already has some support for the desktop mode, Mishaal Rahmann has discovered improvements to it in the launcher code found in recent Android 14 betas. He also spotted support for USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode.
