Pixel 6 Pro 20x Super Res Zoom just doesn't look good
Ice Universe on Weibo just posted a picture showing the Google Pixel 6 Pro and a iPhone 13 Pro zoom image, and the result just doesn't look great.

You will noticed that the Pixel 6 Pro have many noise in the image, making it looks crappy. Meanwhile the iPhone 13 Pro take softer image. By the way, there is also other camera results from the Pixel 6 devices with the new feature like Motion Mode and Magic Eraser.

Since the Pixel 6 Pro has 50MP wide camera len and greater computational photography with the Tensor chip, I bet Google can fix it with a software update. (Ice Universe)

Google Pixel 6 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Camera Comparison
YouTube Video

Someone from Taiwan posted a video of a camera comparison between Google Pixel 6 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro. Apparently the 20x Super Res Zoom example from Ice Universe is taken from this video.

The video language is in Chinese but you could still check out all the results from both of these phones. I haven't got the time to watch but I guess that guy is impressed by the Pixel 6 Pro results and lastly order it.

Highly recommend to watch the full video as it goes through every section and for now, this is the complete Pixel 6 Pro camera comparison we can find.

Waze is finally gaining full dark theme support
Google Maps is great for discovering places, but Waze is great at navigating you to the destination in the shortest amount of time. Waze has a dark theme map for years now, but the full support of dark mode is coming soon.

An Israel website called Geektime, reported that Waze is rolling out the full dark theme support for a very few amounts of users. Currently, users that have got access feature received an "email notice" in the app that it is in the very early stage of development, and there is tons of bugs to be ironed out before it reach to the final release.

The feature is rolling out via app version 4.78 on alpha, which is an even earlier release of the app before reaches into beta so it is not publicly available for now. We will keep an eye out when it got wider rollout though. (Android Police)

Pixel 6 may have the best GPU performance of any Android OEM devices out there
"Peak CPU and GPU speeds look great in benchmarks, but they don't always reflect real-world users' experience," said Monika Gupta, a product manager at Google during the launch event. Okay, but seems like the GPU performance of the Pixel 6 shown in a benchmark is just higher than other flagship Android devices.

Someone on Twitter posted a picture with Galaxy S21 Ultra both Snapdragon & Exynos variant and the Huawei Mate 40 Pro 3DMark benchmark score, comparing with a Pixel 6 3DMark score shared on Reddit. You can see that the Pixel 6 scored 2,028, slightly higher than Huawei, and a huge difference over both Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Benchmark score always take the peak performance of the device, and how Pixel 6 going to perform in real life usage, time will tell, Google seems to be confident with it though. (Golden Reviewer)

Pixel 6 voice typing support inserting punctuations
So a guy named Greg has its Pixel 6 delivered early on October 23th, which is three day earlier than the expected date. Anyway, he done some testing with the device, released the video to his YouTube channel, and one of it is the voice typing.

We know that the Pixel 6 is getting an improved voice typing, and well it kind of true. If you haven't noticed, the words displayed on the keyboard while activating voice typing will also adapt to where are you typing, for example in email application, it shows "say the email message" which is a nice addition.

Next, the guys just speak a long story. Both phone are on par with the typing speed, with the Pixel 6 slightly faster with a word ahead of the Pixel 3. After finish speaking the story, the guys then take a quick and noticed that the Pixel 6 support inserting punctuations while the Pixel 3 don't.

He also left the transcribe words in the video description which you can check it out yourself over there. There much more stuff that he showed off, and we have a summary post just for that. Anyway, here the source which is coming from here. (Reddit)

Pixel Pass isn't saving as much as you think
Pixel Pass, it's an optional subscription for your Pixel 6 to get all Google paid services in one bundle. You get Google One storage, Play Pass, YouTube Premium and Preferred Care.

This bundle is available for US customers only, also come with some few limitations:
1. Only 200GB Google One storage, no other options.
2. Cancel YouTube Premium subscription first if you have in order to buy Pixel Pass.
3. Must buy unlocked or Google Fi model, other are not eligible for the bundle.

Bundle service usually come with some saving, and Android Central did a great job for breaking down the billing for these services in Pixel Pass, and here how much you could save with it:
• Google One 200GB storage: $30 x 2 years = $60
• YouTube Premium: $12 x 24 months = $288*
• Google Play Pass: $30 x 2 years = $60
• Pixel Preferred Care 2-year single-payment: $149
• Total cost (without bundle and phone): $557

• Pixel 6: $599 (Total: $1156)
• Pixel Pass with Pixel 6: $45 x 24 months = $1080
• Actual savings of Pixel 6 Pixel Pass: $76
• Per month savings: $3.16/mo.

• Pixel 6 Pro: $899 (Total: $1456)
• Pixel Pass with Pixel 6 Pro: $55 x 24 months = $1320
• Actual savings of Pixel 6 Pro Pixel Pass: $136
• Per month savings: $5.66/mo.

Unless you are really going to use all these services, else it not really recommend to buy the bundle. Also, probably you take good care of the phone for 2 years and there no damage, you won't be even touching the Preferred Care which is definitely not worth. More details you can check out over here. Google Play Store web interface to get a big change

UPDATE:
Play Store web interface redesign is confirmed.

Don't know what bother Google so long to update the web interface for the Play Store, anyway they seem to be doing it.

Shared from a Chinese Telegram group, a user got server side rollout for the new interface of the Google Play Store on the desktop web. Now it looks much modern with Material Design language, and the interface is now much similar to what we see on the phone and tablet.

All the categories menu have been move from left to the top left, search bar is being redesigned into a single search button at the top right with the Help button and account profile picture. There much more changes in other section which you can discover yourself by viewing the images attached for now.

Currently it is rolling out via server side for a few people. Hope it can rollout more widely soon so we can test out how it works and you get to experience it too.

Pixel's Call Screen feature arriving to UK
Call Screen lets you use Google Assistant to screen calls, also have the ability to block or reduce robocalls and spam dialers. Now the feature is arriving to another country, UK.

It is starting to appear for some users in the UK, though the support page isn't update to mention it yet. It is available via a beta update of the Phone app version 71.0.404685116.

If you are living in the UK, you can try update it and check in the Google Phone app > Settings > Call Screen. When receiving call, you will see there a "Screen Call" button with Assistant logo. Clicking it will screen the call, with the Assistant transcribing the person talking with you and showing a live chat transcript, also there a few preset responses for you to respond back to the person. Here what Google will bring to older Pixels from the Pixel 6
Pixels come with some exclusive features like Now Playing, Call Screening and much more. You may have know that the new Pixel 6 is coming with some of its own exclusive features too, like Motion Mode, Face Unblur, Magic Eraser, Live Translate...

Google have reported to Android Authority on what they are planning to bring to older devices, here what they said:
“As with all Pixel features, we aim to bring as many features as possible to older Pixels where technically possible — though it might take some time to develop and offer a different experience,”

“Some technologies will require additional technical investments, such as Live Translate, as our on-device language models are engineered to run on Pixel 6’s proprietary Tensor chip on TPU (which older Pixel models don’t have),”

“We currently do not have a firm date for rollout to older Pixels at this point in time, but stay tuned for future announcements.”

So what this simply said is that Google will try to bring some features from the Pixel 6 to older Pixels, likely through Pixel Feature Drop. Feel like an extra report with nothing meaningful reported, like we knows that Google will do that every year anyway. (Android Authority)
