Google Photos Memories arriving on your desktop
Our life are full of great moment, and photos save all the moment down. Google Photos "Memories" is arriving on your desktop to show you all these life moment you have on a larger screen.
Starting this week, Google will be adding a Memories panel along to the top of the Photos desktop web experience. The layout is more in line with the mobile app, also offering a curated selection of slideshows made from images both old and recent.
You can also customise it like on mobile, and this settings will sync across devices. (Android Police)

Google Search can help you expand your vocabulary with daily notifications
Since Google likes to send you newsletter via your notifications to let you know what's happening around the world, time to send you notifications of words to expand your vocabulary.
Users are now able to subscribe to learn new word every day. When using the dictionary tool from Google Search in the mobile, there will be a "bell" icon in the top right, click that to get subscribed with daily vocabulary. It will appear on your notifications and with the word and the main meaning display in the notification.

Google Play app subscription fee drop from 30% to 15%, starting day one of 2022
Google is widening the restriction for Google Play, with app subscription fee to drop from 30% to 15%, starting next year day one.
For now, to drop the subscription service fee to 15%, the customers will need to keep a subscription for 12 continuous months. Anyway, starting from next year, all Play subscription fees are reduced, starting from January 1, 2022.
Google is also offering service fee for as low as 10% (from 15%) to developers creating ebook and on-demand music streaming services apps part of the Play Media Experience program. (9To5Google)

Google and Roku fighting again, resulting in YouTube app to get pulled down, but existing users will be fine.

As of December 9, 2021, the standard YouTube app is set to be removed from the Roku platform, cutting off any new buyers from getting it.

Google Meet to gain more controls of participant's audio and video feeds 'for smoother, more productive meetings'
Google Meet is improving day by day since 2020, and the latest addition will be the control to let user open their mic and their video.
In some meetings, you may don't want users to simply enabled their mic and create noise interrupting other people. The feature come in handy as you can now disable participants from simply enabling their mic without your permission. Same for video, you can disable access for them.
One note though, if the participants are simply using older version of the Android and iOS apps which doesn't support audio and video locks, they will not be able to join in. The feature will be fully rollout by mid-November for all Google Workspace accounts. (Google Workspace Updates)

Google is expanding its Google Home branding to include its entire smarthome ecosystem. The company is also introducing Suggested Routines.

Google will soon enable Android Work Profiles for everyone in 2022
Previously, Android Work Profile have been exclusive to managed Enterprise devices. And now, Google has announced to bring it to other Android users next year.
Google said that the work profile will be arriving to unmanaged devices. Google Workspace will be the first to be supported with the Work Profile.
Once the feature is enabled, users can then see their app drawer features tabs for "Personal" and "Work," with the work profile apps labeled by a briefcase icon, which means you will have two version of apps.
In the app drawer, you will see a toggle for disabling or enabling the work profile. Once paused, those apps can't "send you notifications, use your battery, or access your location."
Google also offered $250,000 for exploiting a Pixel device. Google will even pay you up to $1 million for an attack that compromises the Pixel’s Titan M chip. (9To5Google)

Pixel 6 Pro 20x Super Res Zoom just doesn't look good
Ice Universe on Weibo just posted a picture showing the Google Pixel 6 Pro and a iPhone 13 Pro zoom image, and the result just doesn't look great.
You will noticed that the Pixel 6 Pro have many noise in the image, making it looks crappy. Meanwhile the iPhone 13 Pro take softer image. By the way, there is also other camera results from the Pixel 6 devices with the new feature like Motion Mode and Magic Eraser.
Since the Pixel 6 Pro has 50MP wide camera len and greater computational photography with the Tensor chip, I bet Google can fix it with a software update. (Ice Universe)

Someone from Taiwan posted a video of a camera comparison between Google Pixel 6 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro. Apparently the 20x Super Res Zoom example from Ice Universe is taken from this video.
The video language is in Chinese but you could still check out all the results from both of these phones. I haven't got the time to watch but I guess that guy is impressed by the Pixel 6 Pro results and lastly order it.

For those who are in the US or Canada that has pre-order a Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro, you will be getting the Pixel Bud A-Series even if you forgot to trigger the offer.
US & Canada Google Store has send out an email for those customers and a new notice today, stating that those customers who are affected will be getting the free headphones. They will receive an email by November 3 with details on how to redeem it.
