You can unlock select BMWs with Pixel 6 or Galaxy S21
9To5Google

Digital car key is becoming a reality, you can unlock your BMW car with just your Pixel 6 or Galaxy S21 starting today.

For now at launch, you need to take the phone and tap on the car door in order to unlock it, as the NFC method is the only available for now. Soon it will use UWB technology to unlock it and this won't require you to take out the phone from your pocket or bag. Pixel 6 Pro actually features an Ultra-Wideband chip, but for now it not operational.

Digital car key support is available in several countries. You can check out the full list in the articles, because that's a lot of it. The digital car key can be used with compatible 2020 and 2022 BMW vehicles.

GrapheneOS for Pixel 6 Update
GrapheneOS for Pixel 6 status changed to experimental
GrapheneOS support for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is now marked experimental instead of highly experimental. Our official web installer no longer disables support for installing on them so you don't need to use the web installer from our staging site: https://grapheneos.org/install/web

Please be aware of the known limitations before installing:
1) GrapheneOS kernel features aren't ported yet. Most of these are under the hood privacy and security features. A few user-facing features such as disallowing new USB peripherals when locked by default won't work yet.

2) Modern APN and CarrierConfig databases aren't bundled yet. AOSP carrier support is limited and outdated. You'll often need to manually configure APNs and features like VoLTE often won't work yet. This should be implemented in the next couple days. It's not a large change.

3) Under display fingerprint reader isn't supported yet. Experimental implementation has been made but we won't be bundling it in the OS yet. It will likely be a week or two until it's supported. We recommend simply using a random 6 digit PIN for your everyday use profile anyway.

Google Pixel 6 seems to have random signal loss issue
Android Police

The Pixel 6 didn't have a great start. unregistered fingerprints have chances of unlocking your phone, ghost dialing but that fixed, screen flickering and minor display issues. Welp, issues just keep popping up for Pixel 6 owners, and the latest issue is randomly losing mobile network service.

Many people on Reddit reported similar issue, which the phone kept losing carrier network service randomly. Back in November there already a Google support thread and around 100+ affected users has replied to the thread.

Some users that own older Pixel devices also reported after they have updated their Pixel phone to Android 12 and they faced similar issue, but majority reports are still coming from Pixel 6 owners though.

Some users pointed out that turning off Google’s Adaptive Connectivity feature could potentially fixed the issue, and those users who performed said it seems to be working, with some saying it not working for them.

Currently it unclear what's stuff is causing the issue, hopefully Google could solve the issue with a software update as soon as possible.

Pixel 6 December update scheduled to release on December 13
Mishaal Rahman

Google delayed the December update with Feature Drop for Pixel 6 devices, weird. Anyway it is expected to arrive one week later than other Pixel devices.

Mishaal Rahman spotted that Google Japan has reported the update will be going live on December 13 for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

*By the way, have saw this on Reddit when Pixel 6 is reported to receive late update, Canada carrier Fido already confirmed that the Pixel 6 will be receiving the update on December 13 too. With Google staff confirming it, no doubt it will be shipping on that date.

Face unlock to arrive on Pixel 6 Pro with Android 12L, but not for the Pixel 6
9To5Google

Weirdly, Google end up cancelling face unlock for the Pixel 6 when earlier rumors are hinting the phone will get it. A month ago, XDA reported that Google might include it in a future software update, and well seems like this is true after all.

The team over at 9To5Google found out that Google is preparing the feature with strings code reference, but unfortunately the smaller Pixel 6 won't be having it. It unclear whether Google is going to launch it as part of the Pixel Feature Drop or stable Android 12L update, as it is currently still under development.

Face unlock on Pixel 6 Pro will still be scanning 2D face instead of 3D like Apple's Face ID, so be aware of the risk that your device can be unlocked easily.

Pixel 6 owners in Europe reported December update break carrier network service
9To5Google

Hmm... I thought December update by Google is expected to fix tons of issues on their Pixel, but Pixel 6 owners end up complaining network issues, most reports are coming from Europe regions.

Pixel 6 received its December update a few days ago, and it has been split into few regions build instead of having one universal build. Users in Europe should be receiving the update with the build number ending with .A4, but some got the OTA update which install .A1 global build from them. After installing it, they realised their network connectivity is having some issue.

If you have bought your Pixel 6 phone from Europe and received the global build update, get the European build from here and sideload it, issues should be resolved by this point.
