Google said it's not the software region build that cause network connectivity issue on Pixel 6
9To5Google | Previous post

Google has given an update on the network connectivity issue that happened for a lot of Pixel 6 owners after installing the December update, saying that it's not related to the software region builds.

They have also said that the update that have been rolling out to users phone aren't wrong, there is also “no benefit” when using one version over another in different regions.

Lastly on Reddit, Google added that they are currently investigating the issue and will provide more information when it's available.

Pixel 6 seems to prevent audiophiles from using external DAC to listen media
Android Police

In order to truly listen to lossless quality music, you need external DAC and a pair of premium headphones, but unfortunately Pixel 6 is having issues over this part.

Many Pixel 6 owners reported that connecting external Hi-Fi DACs over USB-C doesn't have any sound output, with some music apps end up crashing, and some play screeching sound. The issue is already first reported way back in November, even though the issues has been posted on Google Issue Tracker, still on the December update, the issue isn't fixed yet.

Just to mention that external DACs isn't very popular, so there not a lot of users being affected. Less reports mean Google can hardly noticed it, hence this explained why Google didn't fix it then.
Disable Raise to Speak (Settings > Chat Settings) in your Telegram client settings for 120Hz refresh rate instead of the default 60Hz in the app.

Thanks to @felek73 for the tip.

Frustrated with poor signal on your Pixel 6? Here's a way to solve it
Android Police

So some Pixel 6 owners updated their phone to the latest December update but found out that the phone is having mobile signal reception issues. Google later have explained that it's not due to the wrong region builds being installed, and they are currently investigating the cause of the issue.

For now, someone on Reddit have found out that installing Google Carrier Services app beta version seems to fix the issue. He said he have also try other SIM card to fix but apparently it doesn't do the job until he updated the Carrier Services app to the beta version.

Other Pixel 6 users who have tried his method commented that it worked and they no longer face poor signal strength on their phone. So if you own the device and faced the issue, try install the beta version of the Carrier Services app by Google, link down below.

Some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro units are having screen crack issues
Android Police

This is an issue that is reported by many users a few months ago, but just recently being mentioned by the media and here we are. Apparently some Pixel 6 users out there reported their phone has a crack on the front glass.

Users on Reddit and Google's support forum\ had been reporting it back when the phone is first released in a few weeks time. Pixel 6 Pro got a much noticeable and bigger crack since it has a curved screen, some Pixel 6 units out there also appeared to have the same issue too.

Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are using Gorilla Glass Victus, it weird that the glass crack easily. It could be probably due to manufacturing defect but Google hasn't provide any information on the issue yet and they are actively investigating it.

So yeah, we hope Pixel 6 users in our community don't face this issue since it only happen for a few.

Google disabled Call Screen and Hold For Me on Pixel 6 devices temporary
9To5Google

December update for the Pixel is set to bring a ton of bug fixes & improvements, but due to an unknown bug, Google has disabled Call Screening and Hold For Me on both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

Recently, Pixel 6 users are reporting that they saw their phone have no Hold for Me and Call Screen feature. It's not your phone issue, Google has confirmed that they have disabled it via server side due to a “bug in the December Android update.”

All the region builds and the global builds on December update are affected, with Google saying they are actively working on resolving the issue.

Pixel 6 December update breaks some devices auto-rotate
Android Police

By this point, I suspect that the December update is adding bugs instead of resolving bugs. Users have been reporting poor connectivity issue and Google themselves disabled Call Screen and Hold for Me in the Phone app due to some issues. And now, even auto-rotate is broken.

Users on Reddit and Google's support forum reported that their phone's accelerometer and gyroscope isn't functioning anymore. They said auto-rotate and automatic horizontal images just isn't working properly for them, and they have no clue what's causing the issue. Android Police's staff also managed to reproduce the issue too.

Some happen to find out a temporary solution, by restarting the phone, all those features get to work once again, but it still randomly break after awhile. The phone seems to be having problems communicating with those few sensors. The issue might get a fix in the next update if Google can noticed it, hopefully.

*There are more issues that are yet to be discovered by the media, and also some of these issues only happened to a few, hope you guys who own the device don't face the issue.

Google paused December update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro
9To5Google

December update shall bring a lot of fixes to supported Pixel devices, but the Pixel 6 presented it in the opposite way. Earlier a lot of users reported weak signal issues on their Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro after updating to December security patch, and nearing the end of the year, Google decided to pull back the update for the two devices.

Google has released a post in their forum, stating that Pixel 6 users are facing call disconnecting issues with the December update. After days of investigating, they have included the fix and will be rolled out in "late January."

*Sadly no early New Year gift by Google for Pixel 6 users (but don't forget there Christmas gift).
