....off grid is not just about solar power, rain water collection and growing food, its also about reducing reliance on the other systems we have no control over....including banking and savings....
The banks are some of the most untrustworthy institutions in the country, regularly engaging in nefarious dealings that endanger our money and savings, resulting in government (taxpayer funded) bailouts, or like Cyprus, bail-ins, where the banks just take customers money to pay the banks debts....pension funds have become predatory international capital giants who have far too much control over investment and finance, and cannot be trusted to pay out your pension when the time comes....
So we must find ways of saving for the future and securing our money away from their grubby little fingers and prying eyes....
Silver has been the money of the people for centuries, and until 1947 was the currency of the everyday man in England....since 1947, and more importantly 1971, when the gold standard was finally abandoned, we have lived in an era of fake money....and the results of endless money printing to devalue our money and savings has led us to where we are now, teetering on the edge of another financial collapse, brought about by bankers greed and reckless government spending....
Silver is the key.
If you havn't already, please do a little research into silver and its place in the monetary system.
Off grid money is the safest way to protect yourself and your savings from devaluation through endless inflation.

....tonight, we remember the long line of mothers from whom we are all descended. At the start of the Yuletide celebrations, the divine feminine is celebrated with light, fire and humble appreciation of the role of the mother at the heart of the home, family and folk....π
Love and Blessings to you all on the longest night.
Hail the Mothers.

....so, the Winter Solstice comes around again....
....Its been a misty grey day on the hill today, but we are warm and cosy by the fire, we have eaten well and had a lovely relaxing day, and as always reflecting on the past year, and looking forward to the coming one....
....The garden thrived this year, providing us with plenty of food of various types throughout every season, with months passing over summer and autumn where we bought very little from the greengrocer, sometimes just popping in to say Hi and have a chat, sometimes just a few oranges and lemons, the fruit we cannot grow here....
....in the last year we have improved all our solar installations, bought a new water filter and we now have running hot water for the first time....my oddjob work locally is increasing, and Mrs P has had a successful year with her art exhibitions and craft sales....we have been more involved in the community in our local village, including the summer fete, open mic nights, bonfire night and village hall events....
....We have also had a few very enjoyable evenings at the Whisky Bar, with some great musicians coming again to play on our humble little stage....bringing the folk together is an important part of our lives and we will be organising more events for next year....
We hope you are enjoying the Solstice and looking forward to a productive and fruitful year ahead, thank you all for following the channel, and may the returning sun shine light into your lives.
Bloody Pirate, Red Crimson and family.

....woke up to a bracing chilly morning today, but I really do love the clear skies, cold mornings and bright dry days at this time of winter....there is something very ancient about waking up in a nice warm bed, getting up into a cold home and lighting the fire....getting back into bed with a hot cuppa and waiting for the van to heat up so we can get on with the day....its how our ancestors lived and if you've got central heating you are missing out on one of the things that really makes you feel alive....I love the cold winter mornings even tho life is harder at this time of year....
And the first signs of spring are only a few weeks away....
