De “onafhankelijke” media voerden een heuse heksenjacht tegen zijn persoon. Op 6 mei 2002 betaalde Fortuyn daar de prijs voor. Hij werd op klaarlichte dag vermoord door Volkert van der Graaf, een linkse activist die vandaag overigens weer vrij rondloopt.
Fortuyn werd lafhartig neergeschoten omdat hij zei wat hij dacht. De NSV! zal net als Fortuyn blijven opkomen voor zijn idealen. Of zoals Fortuyn het verwoordde: “Ze kunnen me van de wereld rammen, maar mijn ideeën blijven bestaan.”

Exact 20 jaar geleden werd de nationalistische politicus Pim Fortuyn op deze parking vermoord door de extreemlinkse Volkert van der Graaf. De moordenaar werd al vrijgelaten. De media hebben nooit hun verantwoordelijkheid genomen voor de demonisering van Pim Fortuyn en doen nu exact hetzelfde met de huidige generatie nationalistische politici. Laat ons hopen dat er ooit gerechtigheid komt voor Pim, en dat de media inzien waar ze mee bezig zijn, voor het opnieuw te laat is.
