Deruan ombak mengisi pendengaran Hongjoong. Entah ke berapa kalinya Hongjoong menghembuskan napas kasar sembari meremat satu tangkai bunga krisan putih di tangannya. Pemandangan laut di hadapannya memang nempak indah, namun pikirannya terus menerus memikirkan kejadian dua tahun lalu, membuat hatinya terasa sesak, bahkan pedih rasanya. "Mii ... happy birthday."

Jeremiah, kekasih Hongjoong yang kerap ia panggil dengan panggilan 'Mii'. Dua tahun lalu, di tanggal yang sama, Hongjoong dan kekasihnya pergi ke pantai, tempat kesukaan sang kekasih, Jeremiah.

"Mii, haus nggak?" Tanya Hongjoong sebelum ia ikut duduk di samping Jeremiah, kekasihnya itu mengangguk kecil dengan senyum manis di wajahnya. Senyum ikut mengembang di wajah Hongjoong, dirinya lantas menekuk kedua kaki sambil mengarahkan telapak tangannya untuk menangkup satu pipi Jeremiah. Ibu jarinya bergerak, mengusap-usap pipi yang lebih muda sebelum dirinya membubuhkan satu kecupan di kening Jeremiah. "Muah! Lucunyaaa ... tunggu, ya? Jangan ke mana-mana, duduk di situ aja!" ujar Hongjoong, sebelum dirinya pergi, meninggalkan sang kekasih yang tengah duduk di atas pasir.

Entah mengapa, Hongjoong rasa waktu berjalan begitu lambat, jantungnya tiba-tiba berdetak cepat, bahkan perasaan tak mengenakan muncul dari hatinya. Dengan terburu-buru, Hongjoong mengambil dua kaleng soda, segera membayarnya, dan akhirnya berlari menuju tempat di mana Jeremiah menunggu.

"Mii..." Gumam Hongjoong, firasatnya benar. Jeremiah tak lagi duduk di pinggiran pantai, dirinya kini tengah berjalan melewati garis aman pantai. Sungguh, tubuh Hongjoong bergetar hebat, tenggorokkannya terasa tercekat seketika. "Jeremi—" Dengan seketika, mata Hongjoong membelak lebar, ia menyadari adanya ombak besar yang siap menerjang tubuh kekasihnya. Di saat yang bersamaan, Jeremiah membalikkan badannya, menatap Hongjoong sambil menunjukkan senyum lebar. "JEREMIAH!!" Hongjoong berteriak, tepat di saat ombak besar itu menutupi tubuh mungil sang kekasih.

Siapa sangka, hari ulang tahun yang Jeremiah selalu tunggu-tunggu adalah hari di mana dirinya meninggalkan dunia dan Hongjoong untuk selamanya.
