We’re advancing Nodes towards the Open Network! In addition to multiple Node updates (0.4.9 through 0.4.11) since Pi Day 2024, we're planning a mechanism for Nodes to support switching between the Testnet and Mainnet blockchains. Read more on the Pi mining app home screen.

As announced on Pi2Day, the 6-month Grace Period, essential for preparing Pi for Open Network, began on July 1. Pioneers must complete their KYC and Mainnet migration within specific deadlines defined by the Grace Period, which includes flexibility to accommodate Pioneers who are stuck in the process by system blocks. Highlighting Pi Social Profiles! Released on Pi2Day 2024, Social Profiles allow Pioneers to personalize their presence on the network and engage with others. As part of utility building before Open Network, this feature represents a significant step forward in creating a more connected and interactive ecosystem. Set up your own profile, engage with others through this feature and help shape our inclusive ecosystem!

Improvements to the Pi Wallet made it faster to use and enabled some Pioneers, who previously couldn’t, to create their Wallets and progress their Mainnet Checklists. Remember to only use your Pi Wallet in the Pi Browser at exactly Wallet.PiNet.com. Ensure you're in the correct Pi Wallet, not any fake one, to safeguard your Pi. The authentic Pi Wallet is also visually identified by a purple color in the navigation bar of the Pi Browser with a Pi logo featuring the Core Team apps logo.

We’re rolling out significant updates to Fireside Forum's Decentralized Moderation feature, enhancing fairness and community engagement. Key improvements include refined moderation rewards, improved moderation algorithms, and time-limited promotions for moderators to ensure quality control. UI/UX enhancements also make the platform more user-friendly. These changes are designed to foster a healthier, more accountable environment, aligning with our vision of a self-sustaining Web3 social network.

The first deadline of the Grace Period for submitting KYC applications has been extended to November 30, 2024. This extension gives Pioneers more time to complete KYC, while the final deadline of Grace Period to complete Mainnet migration remains unchanged on December 31, 2024.

Be sure to meet these deadlines to avoid forfeiting most of your past Pi balance, other than Pi mined within the rolling window of the last 6 months before your Pi is migrated. Learn more at https://minepi.com/blog/grace-period-extension/
