Saturday, friends. If the piss boys don't show up, we have a very large anti-fascist community gathering. Bring a blanket, stay a while.
Forwarded from Philly RUST
Piss Boys have said on their Telegram channel that they are coming to West Philly specifically to oppose two people who are vehemently and publicly anti-fascist. That might be thier motivation, but their choice of intimidation has caused the farmers market to close early and at least two community events to reschedule. What these internet trolls may not fully grok is that anti-fascism runs deep in Philly, and possibly deepest in West.

Let's be clear- Proud Boys are not welcome here.

And if they chicken out like thier mascot implies they will, we'll have a bangin' block/park party and do what Philadelphians do best- look out for each other.

We protect us. Bring snacks to share.
Hi friends and comrades! quick update to spread some *info* > panic

William McSwain, US Attorney for the Eastern District of PA, recently tweeted this about the un go encampments: “I’m watching this situation closely. If anybody at the encampments defies the police and commits any federal crimes in the process, here is your warning: you will be prosecuted federally to the fullest extent of the law.”

*reminder: this is scare tactics. watch them closely. we know they’re watching us.

this threat combined with sightings of undercover cops surveilling camps serve as a reminder to protect yourself and your buds. we protect us. we don’t panic, we organize. here’s some tips:

Black bloc is one way to de-identify yourself and protect against surveillance with its own tactical benefits / reasoning, and there are others!

you can also de-identify yourself by:
*wearing clothing w/o identifying logos or marks
*avoiding unique styles
*wearing a mask, sunglasses, and a cap
*bringing light layers and accessory changes to quickly change your appearance if needed

From @UpAgainstTheLaw:
Remember: if you are approached by law enforcement, you have the right to remain silent. No matter what they say or how they pressure you, you are not legally required to speak with them. Say: “I have nothing to say to you. I will talk to my lawyer and have them contact you.” Ask for their card. If you are approached by law enforcement contact Up Against the Law. We have your back! 484-758-0388

ID text slide 6: via @NLG_SF - In collaboration w/ local law enforcement feds are: using cell tower pings to locate, detain, and arrest people through the use of “ping warrants”; identifying people based on clothing, tattoos, and other markings visible through social media posts of protests; mapping out networks of organizers based on info gathered through social media, grand juries, and otherwise that can be used to make additional visits, issue additional warrants, track down people they are looking for, grand jury subpoenas; making visits to people who live stream and post video and photos from protests; collabing w/ task forces that include local police, sherrifs and US marshals to pursue and prosecute protestors

ID text slide 7: via @NLG_SF - is tech ever secure? there is no secure way to post videos or photos of protesters on social media; live-streamers are being targeted and visited by law enforcement and fascists; be aware of the role that (even allied) media can play in collecting and disseminating info that can be used by feds or fascists; even ‘secure’ encrypted end-to-end messaging on phones and laptops can be accessed by the state if they have your phone in possession (always set quickly disappearing messages on signal; don’t share sensitive info over online video conferencing); the pandemic coupled w/ wildfires play a role in creating a sense of complacency around this given the immense barriers to communication; if at all possible communicate in person or leave written messages that can be easily destroyed

ID text slide 8: via @NLG_SF - ways to protect yourself and the movement: be thoughtful about what you have in your house or on your person that could be used against you or others; this includes but is not limited to political paraphernalia, posters, zines, books, manuals; objects perceived as weapons including lasers, shields, mace, martial arts tools, etc; prescription or illicit drugs; clothing worn during protests; have convos w/ loved ones about your wishes for bail and who you would like contacted if you are arrested
