👆The purpose of the “grasshopper definition” shown in this video, was the digital reconstruction of Cairian Quba (mausoleum) structures. The video starts, with the definition in an initial state that represents a model of Shagarat al-Durr's Quba, built in 1250 A.D. Then, through changing the values of the parameters governing the model, it is gradually transformed, to reach Qansuh Abu Sa’id's Quba built in 1499 A.D. The aim was to show that the definition could represent a wide range of Quba structures throughout the architype’s evolution. In the thesis, the definition was successful in representing over ten case studies, throughout two and a half centuries of Quba evolution in Cairo.

الغرض من "تعريف الجراسهوبر" المعروض فى هذا الفيديو، كان إعادة الإنشاء الرقمى لمبانى القباب القاهرية. يبدأ الفيديو، و التعريف فى حالة مبدئية تمثل نموذجا لقبة شجرة الدر، المبنية فى 1250 م. بعد ذلك، و من خلال تغير قيم العوامل الحاكمة للنموذج، يبدأ الناتج فى التحول، ليصل إلى قبة قنصوة أبو سعيد، المبنية فى 1499 م. الهدف، كان توضيح قدرة التعريف على تمثيل عدد كبير من مبانى القباب، على مدى تطور هذا النوع من المبانى. فى الرسالة، نجح هذا التعريف فى تمثيل أكثر من عشر دراسات للحالة، على مدى قرنين و نصف من تطور مبانى القباب القاهرية.
