We are human,
We are not perfect,
We are alive,
We try things,
We make mistakes, we stumble,
We fall,we get hurt,
We rise again, we try again,
We keep learning,
We keep growing and we are thankful for this priceless gift called life

If you are reading this now, thank you for being a connection.

I learn from you everyday. You are my personal learning network.

I do hope that what I share is of some value to you.
Although the world is
Full of suffering.
My soul feel relaxed
Under the stars
In the dark scary night.

A brilliant light illuminating my blank room,
Just like the reflection of sunshine in a dark room.
A gardener of my childhood garden,
Who wetted my flowers to glooming colors like the rainbow.
A true friend that ignited the fire in me
A divine key sent from God to unlock the gate of my knowledge.
A second mother or father that takes care of me with guidance and protection.
An eternal guide that teaches to make who I am.
A Shepard that prevents its sheep from harm.
A bird with no wings that teaches how to fly,
With untiring and devoted ability, with commitment and headache.

DAY 36
PROMPT: You get a phone call from the president of the United States…

CONDITION: Adventure

"Hello, you should know my voice. I desperately need your help, I'm in grave danger."

"Nonsense! You think I was born yesterday shaa? Shameless man. You know who I be? You want trick me? Tigress of the floating forest? Eiii!!"

"Madam, it is urgent. People are after my life. You are my last hope."

"Last hope? Well, well, I am sorry to hopeless you. But see, you are not getting a Kobo. Shameless man!! Instead say you go get job then feed your pikin. Calling people and calling yourself Mr. President. Yeye man!"

"Madam, I understand your concerns but the situation is critical. Call 174K99. That's all I need. I beg of you Madam."

"Eiii, see man, see problem oo. Make I carry my minutes. My minutes oo! I mean. Where were you? Where were you when I was hustling in the streets of Warri. No vex me oo! In fact, I hope they kill you. Yeye scammer."

Her decline button was jammed after she was done ramming her thumb into its gut. She kissed her teeth and shoved her phone into the lighter shopping bag.

"Just yesterday, Oyibo voice call me say my pikin dey sick so make I wire am money. Nawa oo! Right now Oyibo want thief Warri girl. Hm, Jesus come oo. This place don spoil finish."

Her load had been weighing her down. The perfect resting period had been ruined by the phonecall. Ada got comfortable on the bench as she waited for the next bus. Market day was never easy.

The vibration against her leg brought her back to the bus stop.

"This number again! No worry, let me pick and listen to his Oyibo talking."

"Thank God! You picked up...Call the number. Please!"

"My guy, my guy shut up your mouth there oo. The number sef, call am again."

"It's 1-7-4..."

"I'M GOING TO KILL YOU." Another voice barked. The President gasped on the line.

"Ei hello? Hello? This scam na thick one oo."

The cloud of doubt condensed into fear. Her ears had picked up the sound of thuds, groaning and... CHOKING.
A huge crash followed and then, barely managing, the man spoke once more.

"Madam...t-time...I've r-run out of time.."

"Bros, are you alright? What's happening!?"

"6-678 b-blueberry bis- biscuits. Call the numb..."

"BROS!!!!!" Ada's shout threw her off the bench. The sound of three gunshots ended the call.

...

"You glorified prick! Look what you made me do. How do I explain the three bullets in your head to the boss?" The shooter hissed.

"God! And we didn't even get the codes." He continued.
His frustration shot his leg into the torso of the Presidential corpse.

"Hmm, could it be?" He picked the bloodied cell phone and charged out of the room.

"Simone, this is the last person the president spoke to. I know they would have the code. Find them."

He sat on the floor. The passing seconds ate into the shooter's skin. There was no time to spare.

"Carlos, I've got the coordinates of that contact." Simone said from behind his glaring computer screen.

"Well you useless elbow! TELL ME ALREADY! WHERE ARE THEY!?" Carlos boomed.

"Er... Looks like we're going to Africa." Simone replied.

"HAHAAA, good joke. Now tell me where we are really going." Carlos continued.

"Carlos, Mr. President called the woman. Severally, in fact."
...

Ada was back on the bench after dusting herself and getting some life back into her waist with stretches.

"Nawa oo, maybe the bus break down. Oh!! By now Derek my husband is waiting for the Okro soup I promised. Hmm, blueberrybiscuit. Let me call that K number. If ibi scam, Amadioha go strike them!"

...

"We must find her and stop her!"

"Well, that won't be tough...she's an out of shape housewife named Ada Olufemi?" Simone answered.

"THAT CANT BE! It's all a setup. For all we care, this Ada, or whatever, might be the best secret agent
In Africa."

"Carlos, trust me, she's harmless." Simone continued.

"Just shut your face little brother..."
Carlos smouldered with an eerie pause. He narrowed his eyes...
"We leave tomorrow. Ada. We are coming for you..."

DAY 37
PROMPT: Find 10 items around your house. Write a poem with all 10 items in it.

Her
I swear I double locked those doors.
I don't know how he was within our walls.

Him
I swear your mind was inside your phone.
Texting that guy who imagines your moan.

Her
Your dirty mouth needs a wash.
Use the hose, I heard it helps.

Him
My mouth saved us.
He had a knife, I hope you know.

Her
I was in the study. He wouldn't have found me.

Him
This isn't a novel.
Or you think we're in a movie?

Her
Leave my face, go to bed.
That's the remote, get a life.

Him
I pity you.
Nice clothes and shoes but you're ugly inside.

Her
This almost hurts. You talk as if I wouldn't do same for you.

Her
Brother, you know I care.
Shut up, come here, we know my hugs are rare.

DAY 38
PROMPT: Write a story about making a deal with the devil.

CONDITION: horror

11:00pm
The room darkened. The air was heavy with the stench of death. The heat of hatred clung to the walls. Chester couldn't move. The very essence of damnation had entered his room...
The seal of the Ancient prevented his essence from fully manifesting.
The Overlord of darkness spoke from without.
"Chester."
"You have run out of time, the seeds of discord you promised to sow are nowhere to be found."

"My Lord, I know very well that this is so. I beg of you. Claim not my life." Chester continued.

"It is lawful that I do so. I gave you the fame you wanted. I fulfilled your deepest desires."

Chester fell to his knees. "A vow for a vow. My Lord, anything you wish."

"You amuse me Chester. Anything. Fair enough. Ilozekin will go with you. Bring me blood."

Crimson dust rained down from the roof. Chester buckled under it's weight. Not many could be vessels for Ilozekin. Not many hearts could house the full presence of the third messenger of death.

"Let me in!" The dust hissed and constricted Chester's frame

"I su-surrender." Chester groaned.

In seconds the floor was clean.
Chester lay as dead. He passed out as the dust penetrated his orifices.

"Open your eyes"

There were three small cups with words burnt into them.
Chester needed the blood of an innocent. The blood of the insolent and the blood of the frail.

"You have an hour" Ilozekin called from within.

...

11:10
THE INSOLENT
"Celine don't pick up." Lucy said, snatching the phone from her friend. Celine's father was on edge. His fifteen unanswered calls proved it.

"Lucy, my dad is worried. Give me the phone." Celine couldn't see straight. The little sips of alcohol had made her woozy. Her rogue bestfriend lured her to the party.

"I'm keeping the phone, I'll get you to your street."
Lucy's was normal, chugging booze had no effect on her. She lost her way long ago.

"Let's go now, dad will be so disappointed. I should have told him I was coming."

"You little liar, you're picking up faster than I thought." Lucy laughed.

They strolled to the mini-cooper hand in hand. Lucy couldn't allow her friend to add bruise her legs from a fall.

"So how did you get out of the house? I hope you didn't use the recital as your get away ride."

Celine answered curled up in the backseat, "Pffft, I said I was going to the church and stuffed this dress in my bag."

Lucy's grin lit the car. Her friend was becoming more like her.

....
"Bye girl. Hope you can see your house." Lucy joked.

"Just die okay! Oh wow, dad called ten more times. Thanks!" Celine joked. "Same time next week?"

"Ouu I think I love party Cel more than your good girl self."
Lucy concluded.

The street was well lit. Celine searched her head hard for something to calm her dad down. Lucy made a quick turn and sped off.

"I stayed to try out for the church choir. Perfect! Neatness check? Oh no! Where did my feet pick up this dust? Lucy's should really clean her car. Oh Darn! forgot to change my clothes too. I'm screwed."

She wouldn't have entered the alley to change anyway. Her legs got heavy as she got closer to her house. Dad was standing outside, under the streetlight. His back was turned to her...he was facing the direction of the church.

She run him and hugged him from behind. "Dad I'm sorry, I didn't mean to"

He sighed and turned to her, "Don't worry dear, so long as you're safe. I feel my over protectiveness caused this. Go freshen up okay."

She pecked him cheerfully and made for the front yard.

"Wait, what? How?"
Her dad was pacing the balcony! She looked back to...

The first bottle was full. There she lay. Throat slit. A good meal for the stray dogs. Chester licked his dagger with a grin. He too, loved the taste of blood.

"Ilozekin...the other girl was worse than the one we killed. Why her?"

"The fragrance of Celine's insolence was more inviting. Lucy doesn't amuse us. She has been ours for seven years..."

When people are doing good, when their problems are not staring in their faces, when they don't want you.. They dont want you. Period.

The people who really appreciate your presence in their life would like to remind you time and again how beautiful their life is because you are a part of it.It is a harsh reality that friends become strangers, lovers become exes just because the mutual need for being together no longer exists or in some cases wasn't there from the start and it was nothing but a farce.

And then people say the 3 dreadful words "You have changed". Of course they are right. You have changed because you now know that you never mattered or matter anymore to them as you felt you did. All the beautiful words that once came out of their mouth and made your heart feel absolute mirth now pierce your eardrums like a child throwing tantrums because he's been denied of his favourite toy.

We sometimes choose to walk with them some distance of their journey because we know how it feels like to be alone.Instead, we need to learn how to walk alone as we grow up and grow old and better yet, help someone younger to us in learning to walk alone. It's a different feeling of walking alone but together with someone because when they climb out of the same well of darkness you had been in, they thank you with their eyes and their smile. That beats all the so called love and care in the world.

Doesn't it?

Proverbs

As a child, mama would say to me son,
The sky is not the limit and the sun does not burn.
Whatever you want you could get under the fiery sun.

Mama would say;
Education is the key to the living the world embraces.
Lead with your head and not with your heart.
Love you should embrace and hate you put aside.

Son,
Acquire wealth,
But don't you ever forget health.
The things you do today,
Becomes history in the later days.

Son,
I know you're smart and brave
But be careful of mantis and snakes.
They'll push you hard and hope that you break.
Be ready for them son,
So that when they drag you, you don't shake.

And Hey son!
The clock is ticking and the end is near
Do all you should do today,
Listen to me with all your ears.
Hear my words this day son,
Live so that you don't pray to be dead.

Our Weaknesses Perfect Us

If our eyes could see better
Human race would've became extinct-
After suffering from self-starvation

If our ears have been sharper
Confusion trait would've turn normal
An after effect of sleep-deprivation

These imperfections in our creation
Ease our living in this environment

We thank You, The All-knowing
For perfecting our creation.

Title: Hyenas on the Street

I had searched for jobs but failed to secure any. I tried to borrow money but no one was willing to lend me some. Hunger soon ravaged my home like a strong beast from the wild. All day, I pushed myself around and was forced to approach people on the streets to ask for assistance; I even prayed for them that Allah should bless them and replenish their pockets, but they only walked faster and avoided me.

At long last, comfort was on the other side. We paused and observed, like brothers, bonded by sufferings.

“Quick!” I hollered at the Okada rider. We hopped on his bike and chased after the woman. The plan was perfect—he would slow down for me to snatch the phone, then, abscond like there's no tomorrow. As his bike fired on, and the alternating sounds of his gear toggled, I remembered when I sincerely wanted a good job and didn't ever consider harming anyone.

My heart raced uncontrollably. I wanted to tell him to “Stop!” My desperation should not push me to this extent. But I didn’t. I didn't look at the woman’s face as we drew closer. She occupied the entire backseat of the motorbike, while her sagging purple jean left a lot for the eyes to ponder. I went straight for the phone loosely hanging by the side of her bag. I heard a loud horn, a screech, and then, I found myself on the ground. My bike rider quickly jumped on his bike and sped off. I was still on the floor. The woman screamed, "Ole! Ole!" I got up and attempted to run away too.

The shout of "Ole" increased. I had been in Lagos long enough to know that chant wasn’t one of approbation. Someone shouted, "No let am run o! Hold am." Like hyenas, they all seemed to be laughing as they picked up stones. Small stones like toy guns started raining on me. I made moves to run, someone gripped my collar from behind.
“Abeg!” “Abeg!” I implored, dropping my knees to the ground and making hand gestures.

The number of people multiplied. I saw them running to select more massive stones. Some brought out their phones. What will my students in Zaria even hear—that Uncle went to Lagos and became a thief? Memunat will say she knew it! That was why she left me to become Hakeem's 13th wife.

The stones kept coming. Bigger. Heavier. But I knew pain. It wasn't any different. When Sadeeq died in my hands due to ordinary Malaria, that was pain. I saw women standing by the side of the road with their hands folded in shock as I tripped to the ground. My cloth was already soaked in my own blood.

"Forgive me Allah!" I gently thought, as an amused man who stood beside where I laid, lifted up a big stone and sunk me into eternity.

THE END

Forced to approach people for assistance, but they only showed me the resistance.
Looking at the brothers bonded by suffering,my mind started giving me unwanted offerings.
Plan was perfect to snatch the phone,

Hey fellas so i have been suffering from 'temporary inspiration loss' for past couple days so i thought why not share a real life incident that happened to me. So buckle up and enjoy the ride

So i was around 10 years old and my whole family had to visit temple that day for some occasion (i live in a joint family) so me and my cousin with barely 8 months age difference were pretty out of control that day because everyone was busy in preperations. so we have a garage just beside our house which we use as a parking space and to store scraps.so i went in the garage and found a half broken kitchen knife curious as i was, i picked it up and showed it to my cousin, we got really into the knife and i started swinging it like a sword then my cousin wanted to have it and i don't wanted to give him long story short he tried to snatch it i did'nt let go and then same old pulling from one side to another, then he let it go and..... well you can say that, that day could have been my first step towards becoming a pirate.
The knife gave me a pretty decent cut just under my left eye, it started from were the lower eye lid is while covering my whole cheek . Just a little more bad luck and i would'nt be watching late night movies that's for sure. So i am not feeling any pain, when you think about it a cut does'nt really hurt that much right? My cousin freaked out, we went inside the house, everyone freaked out for a sec but seeing that my eye was fine and i am not crying they patch me up, got some traditional beating, traditional 'haldi ka doodh' and traditionally they did'nt took me to a doctor. What? Strange? Hey that's pretty common around here just some haldi and you are good as new . So back to the story i was'nt even tensed about the cut so thinking about it leaving a mark was too far for me to imagine i was 10 ok. But now as i think about it , it's really terrifying, fortunately it did'nt leave that much of a scar very tiny if you really stare hard but don't that's creepy .

Do you have any real life incident?

Do you have any real life incident?
And then when you wake up from the dream of happiness and realise that you there were no one to hold you back and listen to your anguish.
And the only pillar you find may frighten you thinking it might collapse one day and then you will be left all alone to melt down to puddles and there's a huge void surrounding to make you sink in the perfect beach of life.
