I was with my mother at the best shoe shop in my district.
‘Ma’am, tell me, how can I help you?’
‘Do you have some men’s sandals for him?’ mother asked and craned her head towards me, to hint the shopkeeper that she’s talking about me.
‘Yes, ma’am. What’s his shoe size?’
‘10.’
‘Just a minute, ma’am. I’ll be back with the bests we have.’
He went to the other room, swarmed up the ladder and brought 5–6 best pairs with him. Like he said.
‘Which one of those do you like?’ she asked me, once I was finished up trying them all.
‘This greyish one. It has a trendy look.’
‘Okay. What’s the price of that grey one?’ my mother asked the shopkeeper in a polite tone.
‘Just 1100. But since you’ve come here for the first time, ma’am, there’s a 10% discount for you.’ He budged his fingers onto the calculator, just to show us the 10% calculation.
‘Here it is ma’am. Only nine-hundred-and-ninety rupees,’ he said.
My mother’s eyes first flickered, then lay down on the floor for a couple of seconds. Mulling.
Then all of a sudden, she looked at me dubiously, waiting for my reply.
I read the tangling lines on her brow and said;
‘I don’t want those Sandals, Maa.’
I paused, took a deep breath and continued, ‘The red one seems perfect. What’s its price?’ I asked the shopkeeper while looking straight into his eyes, without any shame.
‘550 including the 10% off.’
‘Pack that red one.’ I said while holding back my tears, not because we couldn’t afford it. Because my mother was humiliated as she didn’t buy me those grey sandals.
She didn’t say a word but I sensed it from her eyes.
We’re middle-class people and we have to think twice before buying anything expensive.
But hey, rest assured!
Time changes.
And mine will change pretty soon, too, I can promise you that.

Why won't it be filled with pain?
I'll let it bleed a gazillion times,
but would never complain

* # One day I will definitely ask her * #
She will come to college every day
I will hide.
But this is how long it will last
One day I will definitely ask her
She will look at me and smile
Then I will feel like I have conquered the world
But this is how long it will last
One day I will definitely ask her
In college days, she would wear a new dress
Everyone will take photos with her
And I'll just keep watching from a distance
But this is how long it will last
One day I will definitely ask her.
Her hair will come to her eyes while writing the paper
She will cover them behind her ears with one hand
I will fall in love with her.
But this is how long it will last
One day I will definitely ask her.
Seeing her will suggest me a romantic song
I would deliberately chat loudly among friends in front of her.
She will listen to it and give a good reply
But she will not know that feeling.
But this is how long it will last
One day I will definitely ask her.
She will keep her photos to status,
And I'll keep watching
She wants to reply,
There will be a desire to express feelings,
But I will not dare
But this is how long it will last
One day I will definitely ask her.
And one day her birthday will come,
Very much wishing her well
And start talking somewhere
So I will wish her well,
And her reply to Tysm will also come.
And seeing that, I will fall in love with her even more
But he will not express my feelings.
But this is how long it will last
One day I will definitely ask her.
Then one day the last day of college will come,
It will be three years
She must be walking in front
And my heartbeat will increase
Then the question will come to mind.
Whether she says yes or no
But then will think today r cross this
I will definitely ask her
Then Swapnil Joshi's style
And ask, will you be my spouse?

There is so much more . . . . .
There is so much more in the windy woods,
There is so much more in the flowing river.
There is so much more in the dusty desert,
There is so much more in the abundant clouds.
There is so much more in the heights of the mountain,
There is so much more in the depth of the Pacific.
There is so much more in the lustrous rays of morning,
There is so much more in the mistiness of gloomy night.
There is so much more in the corners her smilingly lips,
There is so much more in the sheen of my restless eyes.
There is so much more in the humdrum life,
And there is so much more in the charming death.

PROMPT: A girl cares nothing about you or what you have to say. Spam her with a story that makes her reply your text.
Today was amazinggg!!🥺
I left the house! Like finally!!!😆😆
Dad tried to throw me off the idea.Tsk! As if I'd listen this time😒
So I jumped out of the house. I really needed to clear my head.😔
And then it happened!!🥺
I saw the hill I'd been wanting to climb ever since we moved here!!!🤩🤩😆
Ouuu I climbed the crap out of it!🕺🤸
Wind blowing through my afro💃😌
ABSOLUTE FREEDOM!!!🥳🥳
And heck yeah! I legit have an afro😒
Yeah, so I went up there feeling amazingggg!!!😆
😑And totally out of breath.
The view! Oh the view was worth every step! 🥺🥺,
Where do I even start?!!😃
😒So many crummy rooftops.
And thennnn🥺🥺 the lake!
You have to see it!!
😌 Don't leave me on blueticks this time and maybe I'd bring you to see it.❤️❤️
Hmph as if you'd even want to go somewhere with me😔😔.
Anywaysss🌚...
I WOULD HAVE STAYED UP THERE FOREVER!!
But something critical got in the way😤
A suspicious pigeon threatened to drop packages on me. ☹️☹️
Maybe next time I'll go bird hunting on that hill😠😠 hmphh!
😌 I learnt the most VALUABLE lesson from today's hike.
☹️That I'm the worst photographer on earth.
So I have no pictures to show for this totally-not-made-up story.

Who am I ?
The uprising beats asking me who am I?
A thought born far past in the distance,
A vision to take storms on a toll,
A dark mass behind the scorched skin,
A calm standing still beneath the pacific,
A rising tides of moments or depth of a song,
A walk in the hilly clouds or sway of a wind,
A childish dream to catch a feather or an early bird of a cage,
A voice yet to be smothered or a sodden leaf yet to get warmth,
An awaken eyes waiting for living dream or solitude sitting in the rainy corner
So much to sleep with and to wake up with less,
Maybe I am just a vapor of water traveling down here waiting to kiss the air.

Wonder, ya, amidst of grasses green,
Azuring sky , with spot of golden bean,
Listless soul strolling by the woods,
Spots his glances on scene serene.
Bearing dew drops of the mist , carried by the ziphyer,
Daffodils reflected myriad bands,
And scarlet roses with safflower,
Rhyming ' freedom for their heart', unseen.
But , heavy heart dragged by me,
All this beauty to the void ,I see,
Oh, this spring hath cursed the life ,
And faith had brought a new misery.
Heat of the sun sqeezes the eyes,
Warm breeze striking the cold face,
Pictures past across the mirror,
Shrinking nerves in pool of rage.
Oh that damsel? Oh that girl.'
With face of moon and gazzel's eyes,
Locks of dense hairs shining bright.
Bliss of wisdom toucheth the lips,
Yet, florid cheeks and manner wise .
But time doth pass like sands on glass,
And all it leaves, are ,horror scars,
Better been with time, u fly,
Else, these scars do slay thy life.
Standing tall frivolously against ,
The ocean waves, bringeth maiden's voice ,
Yet, chooseth I , to let the pain ,
Poisen veins and heart, spoileth.

WORDS
Some words are pure and profound, where some are trespassers of mind, strolling like a cat,
Some words are carved in a sacred walls of history, where some are waiting to be written on a grave,
Some words leads to the unlocked doors of my loved ones, where some are pointing at the fake flickering lights,
Some words are bagging on the way long to unnamed God, Where some are freezing in the frivolous fights,
What a jungle I am in!, where people are even articulating through their eyes and kissing them with the frisky fun of heart,
Look how enigmaticly they are murmuring!, Is it some kind of game or we are the one being played ?

Lake, lake taking the sky,
Take my heart, take my flesh,
Let me dance with angels high,
And guarantee my own eternal rest,
While you smoke and sigh,
Give my head to the devil's nest,
And don't you stop me, don't you lie.
As you lake i take to my own,
On this photograph, on these words,
Enjoy the wolf, enjoy the midnight owl,
As this is my strength, my forces.

Pardon my confusion,
I am just not used to your definition.
Love is the abusive husband
Love leaves bruises on mother’s face
Love is the creepy look father gives me when I walk by
Love is the boyfriend who thinks my body is his right.
Pardon me but I sometimes get creeped out
How can you say you will be on my side forever?
Love is the lies and promises unfulfilled.
I think I might need more time to get used to your strange love

Becoming “God”.
As I swayed
To the rhythm of dancing words
Sinking in the sands of thoughts
Trying to hold on dearly
To hide all these thoughts in letters
Yes,letters bathed in blood
And as I dipped my stylus in this pool
To be God.
Caught in the turmoil of what’s beneath me
Only to flee into this sanctuary
This of glowing nights
For really these little signs bring life
It’s blood to my thoughts
And skin to my soul
In these words life and death speaks

Hey guys! I've newly joined this group, so I'm asking for #review for my first poem , Critical comments are always welcome!😊
On Death
Death is but a peaceful song,
In which you must dance all alone,
And the steps you take,
along the side of rode,
Life flows beneath you,
As you sail abroad,
But you can't swim through,
It's dark and deep.
Two sides of coin,
Lies within, million leaps,
The soul may blessed,
As your flash may fall,
The stories of yore,
Let the world recall.
On Death

Deep down
I'm hurt
Maybe burnt to the core
I don't want to
I need to
I hesitate because it's you
Your flaws never mattered
Mine was nothing
You were just cruel
Lost half of my heart to you
Yet you pay my back
You cut out all the lights
And wirings from inside
I'm put back together
Inviting you in
You're staying
But you're not staying
Our light is almost out
And time is running fast
I still love you
Deep down
I'm hurt
Maybe burnt to the core
I don't want to
I need to
I hesitate because it's you

|The Wait|
Claire, was a beautiful rabbit, working for a Circus. No, not working, she was enslaved by a Circus house. She, with her two little kits Tom and Tim, was an element of entertainment for the audience. In a Circus season, she was expected to do her act two times a day, only to be a small amount of food thrown at her. Insufficient for the kits, let alone for her. Nevertheless, she continued doing her part, without
complaining or cursing, or what the Circus owner thought.
One day, one of the kits was feeling dizzy because of the deficiency of energy. Nevertheless, they were dragged to the stage with other animals. Claire tried to tell the Ringmaster about her son's plight. But, was lashed with a whip. The whip, designed for big animals, made a scratch on her back. She was dropped from the act, as an ugly animal would displease the audience. With tears, she was helpless. The scratch was aching and the heart was filled with the fear for her son.
The kits were given the place of their mother, letting it more difficult for the sick kit, Tom. While running on the rope for an act, Tom slipped and took her last breath. His death was hidden conveniently from the audience, Claire was also unaware. After the show, when animals were dropped at their cage, Claire received the dead body of her son. Tim narrated the complete story. Claire, after sobbing, took a glance out of the cage, the ringmaster and the owner were talking.
"I think today was not a good day for us, rabbits were out of their minds, ringmaster said.
"I think, the loyalty of the kid was more than her mother", said the owner with a wink. An obsequious laugh was heard.
Few months passed, the survived mother and son duo were doing their part, with heavy hearts. Not a day passed without a curse by Claire. As time passed, she stopped cursing as it was painful to recall the incident. The season passed.
Next year, before the Circus season, a calamity took the country on her trap. The financial emergency was announced, and the owner went insane. Without any hope, he travelled through cities with his Circus, with a hope of getting a place to put his shows. But, no landlord was ready to lease the land, no broker was ready to work with him. The day came, and he was forced to stand in the line for food, distributed by the government. A human right organisation took all the animals with them. Next day, a piece of news spread like a wildfire. The owner killed himself out of despair. The body was taken to hospital. When Clair was informed by her fellow animals, a wide smile appeared on her face. The wait was worth it.
