The broken Lad
The agile boy left no village land intact
Although ache was adjacent to heart.
Pack of his friend halo
Never hesitate to carryout amity.
Life is too ill-fated
Certainly not bow down to wish.
Remembering the well saying
His dear patron taught him.
Don't be mournful, son
Indeed pain makes people mature.

NEED OF ROSES
In an era of darkness,
I was confined in four walls of agony,
I grew depression in watering tears,
Lips was dry with lies of smiles,
Sank into verse of pained words,
Filling not colours but only black,
Again and again his face and his words,
Piercing me in pieces, hearing strong claps from illness,
Oh! My dear, come, wake me from here, begging for his love,
I hate being here and,
I need myself on your chest.

Following the unknown footsteps

I lost somewhere in the middle
of heedless desert.
Oh ...my love
The bone of our intimacy
has witnessed a lot...
including the unwanted
forceful separation of us.
Though I haven't seen you
till moment of my life
my everything,
I wanna spend rest
golden moments with you.
seeing the night moon
drinking the soil breaking wine
and enjoying the life-full

Title- Shaded minds
Searching in the storeroom, I found something special:
Those were my kindergarten books, lying inside a big vessel.
Smiled on my handwriting before I found something shocking;
Labelling lighter skin colour as beautiful, 'darker skin they were mocking!
Turning a few pages, there was the story of snow-white;
Her fairness was her beauty because dark-hued don't get prince, right?
Meanwhile, some of my neighbouring ' aunties' arrived;
Someone was again demeaned, by those gossips deprived.
"She is so dusky that's why can't get a suitable groom,
She has no choice left", all of those ladies presumed.
"Hefty dowry has to be paid", one of the greatest exclaimed;
In one more chat session, someone's skin colour was shamed.
Getting away from this to Facebook, I fled;
The meme was of a wedding, "profits of govt job" the caption said.
Laughing on that, I went into the memory;
Old school pics I found with stupid captions which were mandatory.
Everyone's nickname it reminded with one who was called 'crow' ;
It was embarrassing now, what was funny some years ago!
Frustrated with everything, to the TV I resorted;
Fairness cream ad displayed showin' tanned man's career distorted.
Music even felt so mean when 'chittiyan kalayiyaan' song played;
Daily soaps were no less, obsession with fair skin they displayed.
When the news channels flashed- "Due to racism, one more black man died" ;
Even the irony smirked when 'fair&lovely' actors too criticized.
We all are responsible, we all played some part;
Change has to be within us, for change in the world to start.
No one is born racist, it's all that we are taught;
Our generation has to do something, for this thing to be stopped.
Equality is the biggest myth, it always will be;
But something if we do, the world will be better than what we see.

Title: PLAYING HUMAN
The smile on my lips
is forced and coerced
I pretend to pay attention
give the best possible advice
everyone praises me
I'm so kind, polite and nice
It's all just automation
I rarely actually listen
certainly don't care
all I'm doing
is playing human
blending in
fitting in
I'm so perfectly hidden
you'll never even
see a curtain,
from where I stand
Majoring in social events
Put on a pedestal
for computing with you
I'm so perfectly hidden
smiling from time to time
Labeling those
with all sincerity
open soldiery
Passing along an appeal
continuing to fit in
blend in
pretend
force program
Is it just me or
am I the perfect human?

TITLE: Pledge your pain
Pledge your pain to the indomitable courage,
If you want to be safe from the dreaded scourge.
Pledge your pain to the money you earn,
For the world has an eye on everything you churn.
Pledge your pain to the good customaries,
If you want your world to be free of miseries.
Pledge your pain to the power you believe,
You may need it on the day when world will leave you to bleed.
Pledge your pain if you have the will,
Cause life is going to test you on your way to every hill.
Pledge to your pain if you have it all,
Cause it never left you in your rise or the fall.
Pledge the pain to your negative thoughts,
Cause they were there even when you never sought.
Pledge your pain to your beliefs ,
Thank them for keeping your safe.
Pledge your pain to the nature that exists,
Cause everything might seem like a malignant cyst.
Pledge your pain to the keeper of
Pledge your pain to your pain,
Cause it may help you remain sane.

Time illusion or reality
The title I choose for this excerpt is because time has been a mystery ever since we have known time. Several scholars and scientists have said numerous things about time.
" Time is money." – Benjamin Franklin
"Lost time is never found again. " – Benjamin Franklin
"Better three hours too soon than a minute too late. " – William Shakespeare
"Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend." – Theophrastus
" Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back."
........Harvey Mackay
"Time is a cruel thief to rob us of our former selves. We lose as much to life as we do to death."
Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey
Since the start of civilization humans have used natural resources like the occurrences of darkness and light, position and movement of the moon in the sky to keep track of time, this let the invention of seasons, It was only 30,000 years ago when humans first started using sundial ( using mountain and tree shadows at first), water clocks to measure time,
The division into 60 originated from the ancient Babylonians (1900 b.c.e.–1650 b.c.e.), who attributed mystical significance to multiples of 12, and especially to the multiple of 12 times 5, which equals 60. The Babylonians divided the portion that was lit by the Sun into 12 parts, and the dark interval into 12 more, yielding 24 divisions now called hours, although it is not known but we have started to use analogue watched some 400 years ago and our recent discoveries made is develop the atomic watch that could measure time to the billionth of a second is only somewhat 50 years old.
Multiple advancements and research by some great scholars like Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton let to the development of the "Theory of Relativity " that even said that time is a dimension and everything is relative to this fourth mysterious dimension. We are still moving further with research on time cause there are several mysterious lurking in the universe about how the could be bent to move between future , present and past.
Equivocating all about time there is still one fact that several people are trying to unveil about this "mysterious being" called time ( maybe I went too far and called it a being), is that should time really matter, although it is essential but what about the stories of people who have broken free from shackles of time. Those "ageless beings" do they exist, cause if they do we have not understood time, maybe time is really a being that keeps reminding us of its passage and drains us of our life energy just like some scholars quoting 'time' to be a 'thief' of all we love and care . Our bodies some say has our own clock and there are some who have control over it.
"Suspect each moment, for it is a thief, tiptoeing away with more than it brings." ........John Updike
In the ancient Hindu mythology "Aatma" has been said to be immortal , an entity that never dies, what if that is true and we can find a way out to win over our consciousness one day and live without this mortal body remembering all that we do .
Mythology talks about time as ageless that it existed even when there was nothing and would still exist even all that we know ceases to exist.
There is still a lot to be said and discussed about time. Maybe together we will be able to unravel it's mystery or maybe not, cause even when I am writing this is flowing at its own pace and we are losing that part of it causing it to look more mysterious. Keeping it's secret to oneself it goes on and on and on........

FLUCTUATIONS OF HAPPINESS
Whether they go gently
or expedite with force
the rhythms of the night
are there to ravish us
in the miserable nature
of indomitable, incessant need
to gratify a neglected
consciousness
fraught with dancing endorphins
and linger about
love's sea
as a salient reciprocal

CAGED
Woke up blithely on a morning
With gushing thoughts of the day's plans.
Adagio, reality begins to strike,
Marking the lovely plans delusional.
The monotonicity of life forcibly takes on,
Leaving no choice but to become mechanical.
Leading to second thoughts on hankering,
Giving way to lament of all sort.
Late realizations dawn upon one,
Causing convincing of the highest order.
All ends with the blatant thought -
There's no end to this rat race of rabbit runs.

Title: The Moon and the Sun
The Moon and the Sun had always been thought of to be of the same origin but they differ so much in their appearance and functions that makes me wonder what causes them to behave in this way. Are they brothers with one having the nature of a fearsome fireball while the other cold as ice complementing each other in our solar system or are they two monks who have chosen different paths to achieve what they have set out for, one burning itself in the fire like a priest to meet it's creator while the other freezing in cold for the same purpose.
Some say that they have made a truce to divide our time into day and night so as not to interfere in each others functionality. It might also be possible that the Moon is a spy set out by his/her boss the Sun (because it is also believed that Moon has it's origins from the Sun) to look upon us when earth's rotation causes it to hide portions of itself from the Sun.
One also can't rule out the possibility of the Sun being the lover of the Moon , chasing it day and night, separated from the Moon by someone envious of their love making them stay away from each other still bound by their inevitable fate to stay away only to come face to face on eclipses. Though they still are not ready to give up their everlasting, sempiternal, perdurable and unabating love.
The Sun and the Moon have a very distinct relationship , while the Moon has pledged it's alliegance to the earth separated by several light years but not able to escape the Earth's gravity, the Sun however refuses to let go of the Moon by refusing the Earth it's freedom and forcing it to stay in it's orbit and thereby ensuring it's friend the Moon never goes out of it's sight.
Now coming to the image, it depicts the Moon thinking about the Sun and feeling depressed when thinking about not being able to meet his friend the Sun and the Sun being ignorant of this fact drowns itself in daily chores.
While the Moon couldn't stop thinking about Sun day in and day out is now saddened by the fact that Sun never really talks face to face and waits for the sun to come face to face and talk out their differences.

The Lure of A Witch's Presence
Skin brighter than white;
Hair darker than night,
Teeth yellow as rotten flesh;
The Mysterious Lady comes.
She neither leaves a trace nor a shadow that one can see,
But when she comes by she always looks at me,
Her eyes; like flowers with frostbite
they are
So haunted, not sparkling, no trace left of glee.
A lady she was, with no name
But my cold heart asks, am I to blame?
I tried not to fall back from fear and asked;
What dream came to you that you came?
I know so many last words
But I will never know hers,
There's a cold smile on her lips;
And my body shivers.
She appears, sometimes, on rainy days to save the lands going ill;
Born of the night; the evil darkness,
Then she fades into the shadowed hills
Where the memory alone prevails.

An ode to doctors
My doctor, you are next to god
You treat me well whenever I am sick
You work 24 hours dealing with all patients
You never discerned between humans based on colour and caste
You never contrasted between rich and poor
Oh!my doctor, you are next to god
You preserve the lives of humans and regale them well
You never caused harm to your patients and always cared for them
You believe in humanity, you reject appreciation and lures
Oh!my doctor, you are next to god
You always consider the health of your patients first, rather than family
You live a selfless life, you matter only the patient's life preservation
I thank god for honouring us with doctors for us
May you live a life of purity and always be successful
Oh! My doctor, you are next to god
Your heart is in fact as white as white
When your mind is calculating the probability of life and death, you always have a radiant smile on the face
Keeping your head up, you face to face death
You give hope to start a new life ahead

Rain and Sunlight
Painful rain pouring down
And with each drop my heart drowns
Like the heaven aiming with the arrows
They breach the armour of my sorrow
Each drop is too heavy to bear
Ripping my heart with a cunning spear
I try to find the befitting reason
For her treason in this beautiful season
As the thunder hits my eardrums
It reminds me of her temper trantrums
A Spectacle to see as they say the rain causes
But it pauses all that was beautiful
Trying to see through the clouts of clouds
But all is dizzy and all in shrouds
Brimming, my heart overflows with overwhelming pain
Searching the comfort, that she brings
Breezy wind , increases the pain of my heart
Like the game board getting hit by the darts
I don't want it to be furtive
But I don't want it be assertive
Bickering , my words can't express , how plight
Thoughts of her not being in my front gives me fright.
Hope comes along with each ray of sunlight,
Though the rain is the not the enemy that gives one fright
Calmness and serenity spread throughout the mainland,
Seems line rain and sunlight are a long term friend.

The rain
Tiny droplets like the pearls, fall from the sky,
Only to land in the effect of gravity
While some are lucky to be saved by the lotus leaves,
Others looted of their identity by the sand thieves
Some dance on the petals of rose
While some fell at the hands to fate and never rose
I envy the soil for its fragrance,
The rain gets the credit for this essence
I am taken over by nostalgia in this moment,
For the rain brings out memories that are dormant
Running mad with my friends in the mud,
And getting pampered by mother after being scolded by dad
Rain is good for the land is arid,
Not a drop of water on the continent for the bird
Rain gives life, for the cult is waiting to sow,
Waiting for the skies to stretch their heavenly bows
Drench the thirst of those parched lands,
Cause desperate the farmer stands in the lands
Waiting for the rain the heards look to the sky,
Only to wait more , the thirsty birds choose to fly

The Window
Window panes are a little dusty
The iron too became rusty
Calls me to look when it's dusky
But getting to see it is little bit risky
For the view is too grand to be ignored
I bet no one will ever be bored
Crammed up my lessons here before the exam
Dressed up near it ,in my tuxedo for the prom
Each day through the window saw the sun rise
And welcomed the moon after each days demise
Watched every uncle and aunt pass through the gate
Even Peter's funeral ,the view I would always hate
Watched the birds traversing the skies
And the aunties chatting about something secret lies the spies
Watched my mum watering the plants that bore no money
And my father trying to fix the scooter that was worth no penny
My sister when she was twelve
Casting the spell on the creature that never dwelled
Sanya calling me to go the park each evening
For the games we played that had no meaning
I remember the day when I left my house,
The window I sat on called me twice
Calling me to come back soon to the desk,
To watch more wonders through my little nest
I promised the window to reunite ,
And said it goodbye to return and enjoy the site

The rain
The rain brings rest
Dark clouds hover for days
The Sun evades the clouds
Then, one night, rain falls
In torrents, drenching the
Dreamy earth. The farmers
Get busy dressing the moist
Earth for weeks. All the while
The earth is at rest, having
Another ritual bath of the
Year. How relaxed and cute
She grows, like a blossomed
Maiden, ready to be shy.
And the drops glide down her
Feet, with scent of flowers.

Poem: Will
Every day and every night
I walk alone
And start to fight
With the life's claws and deadly nails
With its perpetual untamed might.
I walk and walk in the rain.
And keep bearing the despaired pain
As agony is must for a gain
Blurred gets my vision
And my sight
Can only pray to God,
As it is my only right.
