New article on the Patriotic Alternative website: Scotland: Glasgow's Sordid Secret

BBC Disclosure have reported on a leaked dossier which indicates the contract awarding process for the Scottish ferries could have been rigged.

There is evidence that Ferguson Marine were given preferential treatment by the government-owned ferries agency CMAL. Both ferries are still under construction, five years late and over budget by £150m+.

Some of the findings show that Ferguson were given a 424 page document showing technical requirements, whereas other bidders got 125 pages. CMAL also held a "confidential" meeting with Ferguson Marine, and none of the other bidders. Rules require bidders to show evidence of a builders refund guarantee, yet Ferguson could not provide this, and were still allowed to proceed. Doubtless there will be other evidence as time goes on.

This is yet more confirmation of the SNP’s corruption and incompetence. We need a government in charge that seeks to provide the best service to the Scottish people, not to their cronies or ‘the people of Scotland’ as they like to say.

The SNP/Green Alliance are attempting to move forward its plans to flood Scotland with Immigrants.

While immigration is a power reserved to Westminster , they are petitioning the Home office with a scheme to allow them to bring both EU and non EU immigrants to Scotland under the Guise of Scotland suffering a critical shortage of workers.

The SNP are determined to turn our Nation into a multicultural state full of their "New Scots". Their plans are not about filling jobs but about radically changing the demographics of our Nation.

They are already pushing to take more and more refugees but it seems this is too slow for them and now they want to open a second pathway to flood our Nation.

With Scotland facing a housing crisis one has to wonder where they will put all these "New Scots".

If you care about the future of your Nation why not stand up and play your part in resisting their plans. You can contact PA Scotland here:

On this day in 1902 the "poet" William Topaz McGonagall , who was know as Britain's worst poet died.

He wrote about 200 poems, including "The Tay Bridge Disaster" and "The Famous Tay Whale", which are widely regarded as some of the worst in English literature. Groups throughout Scotland engaged him to make recitations from his work, and contemporary descriptions of these performances indicate that many listeners were appreciating McGonagall's skill as a comic music hall character. Collections of his verse remain popular, with several volumes available today.

McGonagall has been lampooned as the worst poet in British history. The chief criticisms are that he was deaf to poetic metaphor and unable to scan correctly. His only apparent understanding of poetry was his belief that it needed to rhyme. McGonagall's fame stems from the humorous effects these shortcomings are considered to generate in his work. Scholars argue that his inappropriate rhythms, weak vocabulary, and ill-advised imagery are amusing.

The transgender charity Mermaids is funded not just by the National Lottery but also by the Scottish Government.

Now that the charity is under investigation by the Charities Commission over its safeguarding of children, it must be asked whether the Scottish Government will now drop its links to the charity.

The Scottish Government has in the past years been providing public money to a range of dubious charities including Mermaids, Gendered Intelligence, Black Lives Matter, Operation Black Vote, UK Black Pride, Extinction Rebellion, Migrants Organise, the anti-Brexit group Led By Donkeys and - last but not least - Hope Not Hate.

Patriotic Alternative Scotland stand against public money being used to fund these radical fringe groups. If you want to help us oppose them, why not get in touch?

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Glasgow a week ago to protest the death of a woman in police custody in Iran. She had been arrested for not wearing her hijab properly

While no woman should have to wear a hijab, be arrested or face violence for not wearing one, you have to ask a few questions

Some of the protestors were of Iranian descent; why do so many Iranians now live in our country, and why do these "New Scots" - as Sturgeon likes to call them - still identify as Iranians if they are in fact now "New Scots"?

Secondly, many of the protestors were actual Scots. Scots who, it seems, are eager to go out and protest over the sad death of a girl thousands of miles away. But how many of them have ever gone out to protest about the horrendous racist murders of two White people here, Kriss Donald and William McKeeney?

Not one of those people, whether "New Scots" or indigenous Scots, who protested that day has ever protested over those two deaths. Do White lives not matter to them? It appears not

On this day in 1788 Deacon William Brodie was executed by hanging at the Tolbooth in Edinburgh.

William Brodie, often known by his title of Deacon Brodie, was a Scottish cabinet-maker, deacon of a trades guild, and Edinburgh city councillor, who maintained a secret life as a housebreaker, partly for the thrill, and partly to fund his gambling.

By day, Brodie was a respectable tradesman and deacon (president) of the Incorporation of Wrights, which locally controlled the craft of cabinetmaking; this made him a member of the town council.

At night, however, Brodie became a housebreaker and thief. He used his daytime work as a way to gain knowledge about the security mechanisms of his customers and to copy their keys using wax impressions. As the foremost locksmith of the city, Brodie was asked to work in the houses of many of the richest members of Edinburgh society. He used the money he made dishonestly to maintain his second life, which included a gambling habit and five children by two mistresses,

Yesterday, on its second birthday, Patriotic Alternative Scotland held its second annual conference in Stirling.

The packed conference went off without issue, and guests were treated to rousing speeches from some of PA Scotland's own officers, Sam Melia, Laura Towler, and special guest David Clews.

PA is growing every year, and our annual conferences allow us to reflect on the past year, break bread and network with fellow activists, and to motivate our people for another year of growth and activism.

They've dedicated their lives to nationalism, and now to each other. PA Scotland is proud to announce that PA's National and Scottish Admin Officers, Kenny & Claire, have become engaged to be married.

After the presentation of awards at our annual conference this weekend, they received a standing ovation as Kenny got down on one knee to pop the question. Everyone at Patriotic Alternative wishes the two of you all the best in your life together. Congratulations!

SNP-run Glasgow Council are to spend £3,000 of taxpayers' money to send councillor Susan Aitken to Egypt for a UN summit on climate change.

This is despite the fact that Glasgow city council is already extremely low on funds and has considered selling off Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Glasgow’s city chamber buildings to the highest bidder in order to boost the council’s budget. Aitken would have all her expenses paid for by the council and would be staying in the popular tourist destination of Sharm El-Sheik.

How can local people be expected to foot the bill for what is essentially a holiday during a cost-of-living crisis where many struggle to even put food on their table or have the heating on during the extreme cold?

The SNP have been in power for 15 years - elected on promises, not just of independence, but on ending poverty in Scotland, closing the attainment gap in education between the poor and wealthier and creating an equal society with everyone sharing in prosperity.

A new report from the Rowntree Foundation tells a very different story of what has been achieved under their rule. The Foundation's report found that Scotland is a society in crisis, with over 65% of respondents to its survey saying they have had to cut back on essentials, 1 in 4 children are living in poverty, 1 in 5 working people are living in poverty, 14% of pensioners are living in poverty, 61% of working age adults are in poverty and 68% of children in poverty live in a household where someone is in employment.

The SNP/Green alliance is failing our people and change is needed to stop their continuing mismanagement of our country.

Be part of the change, play your part and join us!

Spurred on from the conference, the very next morning PA activists from all over the UK performed a banner drop at Stirling Castle, taking in the beautiful views, architecture and history this wonderful country has to offer.

Our community is building stronger bonds every day as we campaign to ensure the existence of the indigenous people of these isles.

On this day in 1694 Lord George Murray was born at Huntingtower, Perth.

Lord George Murray, sixth son of John Murray, 1st Duke of Atholl, was a Scottish nobleman and soldier who took part in the Jacobite rebellions of 1715 and 1719 and played a senior role in that of 1745.

Pardoned in 1725, he returned to Scotland, where he married and in 1739 took the oath of allegiance to George II. When the 1745 Rising began, Murray was appointed sheriff depute to Sir John Cope, government commander in Scotland but then joined the Jacobite army when it arrived in Perth on 3 September. As one of the senior commanders, he made a substantial contribution to their early success, particularly reaching and successfully returning from Derby.

After the Battle of Culloden in April 1746, Murray went into exile in Europe and was excluded from the 1747 Act of Indemnity. He died in the Dutch town of Medemblik in 1760, and his eldest son, John, later became the 3rd Duke of Atholl.

A former care home on Eldon Street, Greenock has been turned into residential accommodation by its owners Blackwood Housing.

A part of the new housing is being given to people with supported housing needs. But 10 of the brand new homes are to be given to Ukrainian refugees.

Meanwhile, 1,211 households, consisting of 6,356 adults and 3,619 children, are on Inverclyde's social housing waiting list. Most on the list are born and bred in the local community but after years of waiting on the list are no closer to being offered housing.

It seems that locals in Inverclyde really are second-class citizens when it comes to accessing housing. Blackwood and the local authority obviously put incomers ahead of locals. Inverclyde Council has agreed to take in around 300 Ukrainian refugees while thousands of locals sit on the waiting list. Where will they be housed?

We are fighting to put our people first. Get involved and be part of that fight.
