On this day in 1640 a Scottish Covenanter army of 20,000 under Alexander Leslie defeated an English force of 5,000, led by Lord Conway.
The Battle of Newburn, also known as Battle of Newburn Ford, took place during the Second Bishops' War. It was fought at Newburn, a village just outside Newcastle, situated at a ford over the River Tyne.
The only significant military action of the war, victory enabled the Scots to occupy Newcastle, which provided the bulk of London's coal supplies and allowed them to put pressure on the central government.
The Treaty of Ripon agreed on 26 October allowed the Scots to occupy large parts of northern England, and paid them daily expenses of £850, which only ended with the August 1641 Treaty of London. Funding this forced Charles to recall Parliament, a key element in the series of events that led to the First English Civil War in August 1642.

Tommy Sheridan, once the firebrand of the left in Scotland has been declared bankrupt over a debt from fighting a legal case over his earlier perjury conviction.
Sheridan had recently thrown his lot in with Salmond's Alba party but is now unable to stand in elections while bankrupt.
While Sheridan did some good work for the people of Scotland, such as fighting the poll tax. He ultimately was another politician that would have led Scotland to disaster as leader of the SSP and later his own party solidarity's left wing "progressive" policies and their support for unlimited immigration.
Sheridan's career in left-wing politics came to an end after a legal case which saw sordid claims of swingers' parties, group sex, cocaine use and extramarital affairs aired in Scotland's highest courts, and a conviction for perjury followed.

On this day in 1797 the massacre of Tranent took place in East Lothian.
On the 28th of August a proclamation was drawn up by local people to object to the conscription of Scots into the British Militia, to be used either for controlling their own people or for deployment elsewhere.
The following day, 29 August, the proclamation was handed to Major Wight, the commanding officer of the recruitment squad; it was initially ignored. Later, when a contingent from the local colliery communities, led by 'Jackie' (Joan) Crookston confronted the troops, their response was swift and bloody. Several of the protesters, including Crookston, were shot dead out of hand.
The protesters fled from the centre of the small town into the countryside, pursued by the Cinque Port Light Dragoons, who are reported to have cut down people indiscriminately, caring little whether they were involved in the protest or not.

Edinburgh to Apologise for Role in Slave Trade
In another attack on our history, recommendations from the “Edinburgh Slavery and Colonialism Legacy Review” chaired by Jamaican-born Sir Geoff Palmer have been accepted by Edinburgh Council.
As well as an official public apology, a working group will also ensure other recommendations are carried out. These include “re-framing” the city’s monuments with plaques dedicating them to the slave trade, “teaching and learning materials” designed for our schoolchildren and encouragement for further funding into research linking Edinburgh with the Atlantic slave trade.
This is a group chaired by a foreigner who has been given the power to “re-present” our history to us, both on our monuments and in our schools. This isn’t really about the Atlantic slave trade, because if it was, it would be about celebrating our leading role in putting an end to it. It’s really about the demoralisation of our people and the constant push to guilt us into accepting our own replacement.

A paper by local authority chiefs has revealed Scotland’s share of refugees will rise from 5,521 to 9,000. Currently, eight councils are hosting refugees in Scotland, with Glasgow housing the most. But under the guise of having a "fairer distribution" of these refugees, our government is ensuring that there will be no part of our country left untouched by immigration. There will be nowhere left in Scotland that is called home by Scots and Scots alone.
Despite us seeming to be able to house all these new arrivals, Shelter Scotland reported 33,792 homeless applications and 27,571 households assessed as homeless in 2020-2021.
As we've seen time and time again throughout the Western world, White flight is not an option. The only right choice is to get active and campaign against these policies, to build nationalist communities where we already live and stop this anti-White government who will push their globalist agenda into every corner of our country.

Holyrood has rolled out its Project Fear over population decline yet again.
This time we are being told that Scotland's population will decline by 900,000 over the next 50 years. We are also being told that Scotland's GDP growth will underperform because of this and the fact that the population is aging.
We have heard all these predictions before from the Scottish Government and it has never happened. In fact many times when they have made these dire predictions the population has actually grown.
Even if we accept that the decline will happen, the Scottish Government is doing nothing to try and boost the indigenous population as other countries have done.
Instead they prefer the option of encouraging mass immigration. Immigration that will, if you accept they will be looking to bring in nearly a million people, change the face of Scotland forever and push the indigenous population towards being a minority.
We need more True Scots, not hundreds of thousands of so-called "New Scots".

Golf balls, it appears, are a product of colonial exploitation, and golf itself is a part of colonial oppression - or so the University of St Andrews has decided.
Golf balls were made of rubber, which according to the University we stole from the poor locals, and golf was imposed on locals by terrible white supremacists, as was cricket, the academics claim.
I am sure the millions of golfers and cricketers in Britain's former colonies feel close to tears with the history of oppression they feel as they play the game now.
You have to wonder where these ridiculous proclamations from academia will go next.

The Scottish Government is considering opening mass refugee reception centres. They say that the centres are just temporary accommodation for people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
But given that a report by the Scottish local authorities recently claimed that the number of "refugees" in Scotland (not including the 18,000 Ukrainians from the sponsor scheme) is set to jump by over 50% and the Scottish Government also recently issued a report claiming that we are heading for a massive population decline and action is needed to stop this, you have to think that these so called temporary camps are going to become full-time centres flooded with larger and larger numbers of "refugees" in years to come.
The Scottish Government is set on betraying the indigenous people of our country by flooding our nation with incomers.
The question is, what are you going to do about it? Will you sit back and accept their plan to change your nation forever?
Or will you stand up and fight for your land and your families' future?

The current postal strikes seem to be only having a minor impact on our deliveries. There are more strikes on the way but we will continue to despatch our books first class and deliver the best service we can.
Claymore Books is also fully behind the postal workers. They do an amazing job and without them we could not distribute our fine books.
A true Nationalist government would bring the postal service back into national ownership for the benefit of our people.
It would also install a far better management system that prioritises efficiency rather than permit the usual ham-fisted public sector shambles that has been a feature of the modern liberal-capitalist system.

Leslie and Charles II marched south in an unsuccessful attempt to rally Royalist supporters in England. The Scottish government, left in an untenable situation, surrendered to Cromwell. At the Battle of Worcester, precisely one year after the Battle of Dunbar, Cromwell crushed the Scottish army, ending the war.

Greg Clark, the levelling-up secretary, has called for a crackdown on so-called "family voting".
Family voting is the practice of husbands being able to instruct their wives how to vote at the ballot box.
The practice is very prevalent amongst Asian communities. Young men bring barely literate women they have married in Pakistan to the UK. The women are then confined to the house, not allowed to work, left without TV or media access and discouraged from learning English. Though they are, of course, registered to vote and claim social security. The young men are then known to repeat the process several more times. It is in effect a form of modern slavery.
The government has been aware of this for a long time but, as with all things to do with ethnic communities, they have refused to act so far.
The practice is most prevalent down south in places like Tower Hamlets. But you can be sure that it goes on in ethnic communities in Scotland as well.
