Breakdowns and delays of ferry services are posing a real threat to island life on the west coast of Scotland.
Continuous breakdowns and travel delays have badly affected inhabitants of the west coast isles. These delays have harmed businesses and badly impacted the isle's efforts to tackle depopulation.
These islands shouldn't have to rely on ferries to survive. However, due to the anti-White agenda and reliance on tourism, depopulation of these isles is a huge threat to the natives.

Jeane Freeman, the former SNP Health Secretary, has landed a prime job at Glasgow University.
Freeman was the one responsible for allowing over 1700 untested old people be moved from hospitals to nursing homes, an action that was responsible for COVID spreading like wildfire through nursing homes, resulting in many deaths.
As usual the Scottish political elite are looking after each other. You can be responsible for a major event that leads to multiple deaths but still be handed a well-paid cushy job. It's not the first time we have seen this in the public sector and surely won't be the last.
The political elite are more interested in looking after each other than caring for the people of Scotland.
It is time for a change in Scottish politics. We need people who actually care about our people and nation rather than themselves. The Scottish people need a viable alternative: a Patriotic Alternative.

West Dunbartonshire Council is facing a black hole in its finances of £5.6 million and looking at major cuts in services. But it appears to think that a good way to spend public funds is to expand its art collection by purchasing a £24,000 painting by Scottish contemporary artist Alison Watt.
Art for the people is a good thing in principle. Art and music can enhance people's lives, but surely there are other priorities at this time. West Dunbartonshire is looking at cutting back travel for schoolkids, charging the old and disabled for garden maintenance, charges for bin collections and other possible cuts. Surely putting the money towards at least mitigating some of these cuts would be a better use of public funds.
There is no word on where the painting would be displayed either, with the strong possibility that it could just sit in a Council building viewed by very few people.
It appears that politicians are yet again completely out of touch with reality.

The Scottish government seeks to reform legislation to make it easier for transgenders to change their legal gender.
Under the SNP's plan, no diagnosis or medical reports would be required before changing gender. For now, transgenders only make up 0.5% of Scotland's population.
However, this number will soon grow with the easing of legislation.
The SNP are committed to destroying what is left of the moral fabric of Scotland. This government would rather cave to a tiny minority over what is best for the Scottish people.

It appears that the SNP/Green government have shown their incompetence yet again. Instead of making sure that the money they have been given by Westminster to help Scots with the fuel crisis goes to the most needy in society, they have decided to allocate it in a way that means it is diluted amongst others who might have a high income
Part of the money has been allocated to people who are in receipt of the council tax rebate; this only goes to those most in need. But they have also allocated money to people in council tax bands A-D, where it is possible that someone in one of the higher brackets could have a high income
The way the money is being split means that everyone in these categories will receive £150. If they had restricted it to the people in receipt of CTR, it means the most needy would have received £600, a far more useful amount
The SNP/Green policy seems very flawed, as their other policies to reduce poverty in Scotland have been, with poverty rates actually rising under their stewardship

On this day in 1688 James Renwick the last of the Covenanter martyrs was executed in Edinburgh.
Renwick was a Scottish minister with whose death on the scaffold, at the early age of 26, closed the sanguinary persecution directed against religious liberty in Scotland by the house of Stewart.
He was one of the preachers who preached in the open air. In 1687 James II gave full liberty for Presbyterians to worship in meeting houses or in homes, but banned the open air meetings. To most Covenanters this was acceptable but Renwck and hs followers refused to stop their field meetings and swear fealty to the King.
Renwick carried on preaching but was captured after a struggle in Edinburgh on 1st Feb 1688. He was again told to swear fealty to the King but again refused. He was questioned by the Privy Council and then charged with 3 offences.
He went on trail at the court of session before a jury on the 8th of February. Found guilty by his own admission he was hung in Edinburghs Grassmarket.

On this day in 1515, Gavin Douglas became Bishop of Dunkeld.
Douglas was a Scottish bishop, makar and translator. Although he had an important political career, he is chiefly remembered for his poetry. His main pioneering achievement was the Eneados, a full and faithful vernacular translation of the Aeneid of Virgil into Scots, and the first successful example of its kind in any Anglic language. Other extant poetry of his includes Palice of Honour, and possibly King Hart.
Gavin (or Gawin, Gawane, Gawain) Douglas was born c. 1474–76, at Tantallon Castle, East Lothian, the third son of Archibald, 5th Earl of Angus by his second wife Elizabeth Boyd.
Douglas's major literary achievement is the Eneados, a Scots translation of Virgil's Aeneid, completed in 1513, and the first full translation of a major poem from classical antiquity into any modern Germanic language. His translation, which is faithful throughout, includes the 13th book by Mapheus Vegius.

As the Scottish government attempts to push through their twisted Gender Recognition law, claiming that transgender people are no danger to women and that they are just normal people and should be accepted as such, this story, one of many, would make you think otherwise.
Chloe Thompson (real name Andrew McNab) was up in court for flashing "her" penis to people, performing sex acts and using sex toys on himself in the street. Obviously the acts of a totally normal person who is no danger to women or children. McNab, it seems, already had 17 convictions for 22 offences before he became a "she".
Time for the SNP to think again, but of course, in their push to be seen as "progressive" and "inclusive", they won't. These gender laws they are pushing through can only lead to trouble and should be stopped.

There is some optimism in the latest Scottish birth rate figures with a slight increase over 2020's which was the lowest birth figure since 1855. 2021 saw 47,785 babies born in Scotland.
However, there is still a decline forecast in Scotland's population by 2045. The Scottish government has launched a consultation into why our birth rate is so low. Though their main plan to deal with population decline seems to be yet again to import people from abroad.
We should be looking at ways to boost our indigenous population, rather than grow our population by immigration. Tax breaks to make it possible for a family to live off one wage, cash to help with housing, cash awards and tax breaks for large families would be some ideas.
There are lots of innovative ways we can increase our birth rate rather than short-sighted immigration which is likely to bring social problems and a loss of Scottish identity with it.

On this day in 1314 Sir James Douglas, known as the Black Douglas, captured Roxburgh Castle from a English occupation force. He attacked at night and his men were disguised under black cloaks, which it appears the defenders mistook for cattle. They then used ropes and board ladders to climb the walls.
Roxburgh Castle is a ruined royal castle that overlooks the junction of the rivers Tweed and Teviot, in the Borders region of Scotland. The town and castle developed into the royal burgh of Roxburgh, which the Scots destroyed along with the castle after capturing it in 1460. Today the ruins stand in the grounds of Floors Castle.
Tradition states that King David I founded the castle; it is first recorded in c.1128 during his reign. In 1174, it was surrendered to England after the capture of William I at Alnwick, and was often in English hands thereafter. The Scots made many attempts to regain the fortress.King Edward I of England imprisoned Mary Bruce in a cage hung outside the castle from 1306 to 1310.

Staff in pharmacies have been facing increasingly aggressive behavior and abuse from customers.
According to staff, most of this aggression is brought on by 'unrealistic expectations' and a lack of face-to-face meetings with GPs.
No staff should have to face abuse from customers. However, this is the natural consequences of the stress that the general public are under due to the failing system and scamdemic fear mongering.

In a rare victory for common sense and for female campaigners the Court of Session has blocked the SNP government's attempts to have transgender "women" defined as women when it comes to appointing people to public boards.
The Court has ruled that the SNP has the power to put through a law to increase the number of women and transgender people on public boards under equality laws, but that they do not have the power to expand the definition of women to include transgenders.
Transgender "women" are simply not women and should not be defined as such. They are biologically male and have never been through the experiences of growing up as a young female, something that shapes a women's identity. We need to stop pandering to these minority groups.

Council cleansing workers, who not that long ago were being applauded for their hard work on the front lines during COVID, are facing the prospect of going on universal credit or taking on second jobs to make ends meet during the current cost of living crisis.
Though they did receive a recent pay rise it is far below the recent rise in inflation. The workers do a difficult job in Glasgow dealing with rats and the terrible mess that has been allowed to accumulate in the streets and backcourts of Glasgow due to the council's mismanagement of refuse services.
These workers are not alone in facing hard choices, with many other public and private sector workers facing the same financial difficulties.
We need to see a proper wage being paid to people across Scotland. A wage rate will give people dignity in work and not leave them in working poverty. None of Scotland's political parties seems to have any idea how to achieve this. Scotland needs a new approach to politics and to work.

Today the lads of Mid Scotland & Fife were once again out in force, cleaning the mess that the council refuse to deal with and delivering 800 leaflets in the Alva area.

On this day in 1472 Orkney and Shetland became formally part of Scotland when an Act of Parliament was passed.
Orkney and Shetland had from the 10th century been annexed by the Kingdom of Norway, which later entered a personal union with the Kingdom of Denmark. In 1468, Orkney was pledged by the Norwegian king Christian I as security against the payment of the dowry of his daughter Margaret, betrothed to James III of Scotland. The following year he pawned Shetland to the Scottish Crown which has since refused to accept repayment and return it. After the Acts of Union of 1707 Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles, along with the rest of Scotland, became part of the Kingdom of Great Britain.
