Today PA activists combined a homeless outreach with a historical walk around Newcastle city centre.
Through donations from our supporters we provided the homeless with food, hand warmers and water. They were very much appreciated on such a cold day.
After the outreach we visited the Black Gate and Newcastle Castle which dates from 1247, and also admired many grand buildings in between.
We finished off in a lovely traditional and welcoming pub where we discussed plans for future activities.
Thank you to all that turned up.

Work absences in the NHS are at their highest rate since the start of the scamdemic, allegedly due to the Omicron variant.
Official figures show that around 50,200 NHS staff were off work in the week leading up to January 11th. This absence has led to increased pressures on the already failing NHS.
Evidently, despite all restrictions, vaccines, boosters, masks and sanitisation, the NHS is completely ineffective at stopping this viral outbreak. We are lucky Omicron is not deadly, as we clearly can't rely on the NHS to save us anymore.

On this day in 1872 Greyfriars Bobby died in Edinburgh.
Greyfriars Bobby was a Skye Terrier who became known in 19th-century Edinburgh for spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner. The story continues to be well known in Scotland, through several books and films. A prominent commemorative statue and nearby graves are a tourist attraction.
The best-known version of the story is that Bobby belonged to John Gray, who worked for the Edinburgh City Police as a nightwatchman. When John Gray died he was buried in Greyfriars Kirkyard, the kirkyard surrounding Greyfriars Kirk in the Old Town of Edinburgh. Bobby then became known locally, spending the rest of his life sitting on his master's grave.
In 1867 the Lord provost of Edinburgh, Sir William Chambers, paid for Bobby's licence and gave the dog a collar, now in the Museum of Edinburgh.
He was buried just inside the gate of Greyfriars Kirkyard, not far from John Gray's grave.

Oil services firms say that there is much potential in new unexploited oilfields not just in the North Sea but also off Shetland.
The Scottish government, with its pact with the Greens, is damaging the chances of any of these fields being exploited. While it is true that we should cut carbon emissions, this needs to be a gradual effort. It will benefit no one to see the exploitation of these fields banned or made not viable. We have already seen work on the Cambo oilfield stopped due to fears over the actions of the Scottish government.
At a time when people are struggling to heat their homes and pay ever-increasing fuel bills we cannot transition away from the traditional energy sources too quickly as this will just worsen the problem. The SNP have the dream of Scotland being run on clean energy with homes retrofitted with green technology, but it is at this moment an expensive, unattainable dream that can only bring more energy pain to the people of Scotland.

Today marks a very sad anniversary of a brutal racist murder which, like other racist murders of white people, has been swept under the carpet.
On 15 January 2012 William Mckeeney was walking home to his flat in Pollokshields after enjoying a couple of quiet pints in a local pub and picking up a fish supper for his partner. William had just entered Melville Street where he and his partner lived when he encountered two Asian youths, Asif Rehman and Adel Ishaq. Rehman and Ishaq had been drinking and taking drugs and set upon William - for no reason except, it appears, that he was white and in the wrong place at the wrong time. One of the murderers said in a phone call after the murder that they "had splattered a white cunt".
The two Asian youths knocked William unconscious then continued to kick him, jump on his head and body for several minutes, leaving him battered and broken in the street. William's partner witnessed the attack from their flat window. She thought the two were breaking up furniture.

It wasn't till after Rehman and Ishaq ran off that she realised the object in the street was in fact a body. She ran outside and found the body was in fact William.
William was taken to the Victoria Infirmary but never regained consciousness and died several hours later. William's injuries were so severe that a pathologist said they were as if he had fallen from a high building or been hit by a car.
Rehman and Ishaq were eventually convicted and received a minimum of 16 years for the brutal murder of an innocent, well-liked 57 year old man. Rehman, who went onto commit further violent attacks in prison, died in prison on the 13th of September 2021.
William's murder has been swept under the carpet by the establishment in Scotland. There is no acknowledgement of the fact that it was a racist crime and no memorial to William exists. Once again, White people's lives seem to be considered less important than those of others. William is just one of a growing list of White victims of racist violence who go unremembered and those who highlight their cases are usually threatened by the state into silence. We at PA Scotland will always remember these White victims of racist terror.

A 31 year old man has been seriously injured after being shot in a housing estate in Glasgow.
The suspect is yet to be identified. Violence is no surprise anymore under the SNP government and it is a tragedy to see this nation fall into crime.
The leftist response to this will be harder restrictions on weapon ownership, despite never tackling the glaring flaws in the justice system and Police Scotland.

On this day in 1707 the Scottish Parliament passed the act ratifying the Union of Scotland and England by 110 votes to 69 with a number of key amendments. News of the ratification and of the amendments was received in Westminster, where the Act was passed quickly through both Houses and received the royal assent on the 6th of March
Prior to the Acts of Union there had been three previous attempts (in 1606, 1667, and 1689) to unite the two countries by Acts of Parliament, but it was not until the early 18th century that both political esta

A government agency found a hotel used to house homeless people as 'safe and secure'. The hotel had suffered nine deaths of homeless people in the period that it was assessed as being 'safe and secure'. It had also had numerous reports of vermin infestations.
The government yet again lets our people down. Our homeless are placed in these run-down and unsafe B&Bs with no support, if they are lucky.
Meanwhile so called "migrants" are being housed in much better accommodation with three meals a day, free WiFi and many other amenities. Many will quickly be moved into their own properties. All while our people sit for years on waiting lists, some who will never get housed.
It is time that our people were put first, instead of being overlooked as incomers receive better treatment.
