Murray was a pivotal force in the legendary Challenger expedition, which was fraught with adventure, loss of life, and groundbreaking innovation.
Specimens brought back by Challenger were distributed to the world's foremost experts for examination. The final report and specimens are now held at the British Natural History Museum. Some specimens, many of which were the first discovered, are still examined by scientists today.

A small group of us were out this morning picking up litter around the Kriss Donald bench, as many of us had commented on the unbecoming state of the immediate area.
The shocking levels of waste and overall unnecessary damage to our local environment is border lining the third world.
One issue is the design of public bins, and certain demographics thinking it is ok, to abandon piles of half secured bin bangs almost ceremoniously around public pavement litter bins.
Streets in Glasgow are rife with the sound of rubbish rustling up and down the pavements at night.
We spoke to several members of the public who congratulated us on our efforts, wanted to join in, and brought up Govanhill and its hordes of rats wastelands.
This is great stuff for building connections regionally both internally and externally, sensibility permitting.
There is much to be positive about, the general public have it in their interests to be nationalists, we just have to show them.

Work to help refugees settle in Scotland will benefit from £2.8 million of funding.
The New Scots Refugee Integration Delivery Project will offer small, medium or large grants to organisations to either widen existing work, or start new initiatives which assist those who have had to flee their own country to escape war and terror.
This is part of the New Scots refugee integration strategy (2018-22) which aims to ensure refugees live in safe and welcoming communities that enable them to rebuild their lives from the day they arrive in Scotland.

Public agencies funded by the Scottish Government have been bullied and politicised by SNP chiefs, according to a former chief executive of Scottish Enterprise.
Jack Perry also accused the nationalist government of trying to “neuter” firms which failed to align their strategies with the party’s independence mission.
He added: “They get shot down instantly and boycotted. It’s very slick. Tunnock’s got berated for promoting a British identity in export markets rather than Scottish. They subtly changed branding and suddenly there are boycott calls.
“You saw it with Barrhead Travel, who had the temerity to suggest maybe the Union was a good thing and again you had people calling for boycotts. They always play the man, not the ball. They always go for the individuals.”
