This day in 1305 saw the execution of William Wallace in London. Wallace had been one of the main commanders of Scottish forces during the First War of Scottish Independence.

Wallace was captured on the 5th of August at Robroyston outside Glasgow and transported to London. He was then taken to Westminster Hall, where he was tried for treason and for atrocities against civilians in war, "sparing neither age nor sex, monk nor nun." He was crowned with a garland of oak to suggest he was the king of outlaws. He responded to the treason charge, "I could not be a traitor to Edward, for I was never his subject".

Following the trial, on 23 August 1305, Wallace was taken from the hall to the Tower of London, then stripped naked and dragged through the city at the heels of a horse to the Elms at Smithfield. He was hanged, drawn and quartered, strangled by hanging, but released while he was still alive, emasculated, eviscerated and his bowels burned before him, beheaded. His head was put on display at London Bridge.

A national disgrace at a time when Sturgeon and her minions are pushing to bring more refugees to Scotland.

Over 275 Scottish families have been stuck in temporary accommodation for over three years while they wait for a permanent home. Another 900 have been waiting at least two years and a massive 5000 have been waiting at least a year. Meanwhile the SNP have cut £250 million from the social housing budget.

Several thousand Afghan refugees are coming to Scotland in the near future. Putting yet more pressure on the system. Refugee and immigrants rights campaigners are moaning on about a breach of refugees' rights being put in temporary accommodation rather than being given permanent homes straight away. But yet they have nothing to say about the thousands of Scots stuck in unsuitable accommodation awaiting the remote chance of a permanent home. We are even seeing the possibility of brand new homes built to accommodate the refugees' large families. Scots really are 2nd class citizens in their own country.

It looks as if you want a drink in Edinburgh that you'd better be careful about what you think on the question of sex and gender. You may think you are just out for a wee catchup with some friends, but it appears bar staff can decide you are a bunch of trans-hating bigots who are a threat to them and their customers and call the police to evict you.

A group of people were meeting in a Edinburgh pub who just happen to be part of a women's rights group, including a high profile lady involved in a court case around gender recognition. Their meet up was purely social. But they were made to leave the pub and branded haters in front of other bar goers. It seems that Greene King, the company that owns the pub, claims to be all about providing welcoming and friendly pubs that don't tolerate discrimination - well unless you happen to believe in women's rights or the truth that sex is static and if born a man you die a man no matter what you do.

So avoid the Doctors pub in Edinburgh if you want a nice night out.

This day marks the death of David Hume in 1776 in Edinburgh. Hume is considered one.of the most important and influential philosophers to write in the English language.

David Hume was a Scottish Enlightenment philosopher, historian, economist, librarian and essayist, who is best known today for his highly influential system of philosophical empiricism, skepticism, and naturalism. Beginning with A Treatise of Human Nature (1739-40), Hume strove to create a naturalistic science of man that examined the psychological basis of human nature. Hume argued against the existence of innate ideas, positing that all human knowledge derives solely from experience. This places him with Francis Bacon, Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and George Berkeley as a British Empiricist.

There is a epidemic in Scotland. Not the one that we hear about every day in the news, but a epidemic of grooming and abuse against Scotland's children.

In 2015/16 there were 381 cases of online grooming reported. By 2020/21 this had surged to 685 - a massive jump and sure to only be the tip of the iceberg, as many cases will go undetected and unreported.

There needs to be tighter controls on the internet and sanctions against the big tech companies that are falling down on their duties to protect our children.

Of course parents must play their part. But it has become harder for many to do this is with ongoing erosion of parents' rights. The state and the media must take a large part of the responsibility as well. The government and the media have allowed the sexualisation of children, exposing them to degenerate ideas such as the early sex education plans they have, the transgender agenda, the rise of drag culture and many other examples. We need tougher sentences for any sexual offences.

If you live in upmarket East Renfrewshire it looks as if you will be getting some new neighbors soon!

The council, who already took part in the scheme to bring Syrians to East Renfrewshire, is now committing to take in Afghans as well.

East Renfrewshire maybe one of the the most desirable and well-off areas of Scotland. But it has seen rising homeless numbers for the last few years, with over 330 people registered as homeless this year so far. There is also a very long housing waiting list.

But it seems that while East Renfrewshire can't house Scots it can find homes for foreigners. There should be no one that is not born in Scotland housed before every Scot has a home.
