Sadly the Highland Games circuit is yet another event that has been badly hit by the pandemic in the last two years.

Around sixty games are held each year and they bring tens of millions of pounds into local communities all across Scotland every year. It looks positive for the future though with games like the Lonach Gathering already planning for next year and has competitors and spectators already booked to come from abroad for 2022.

The Scottish government should do everything it can to make sure these games are in a position to go ahead and thrive for the future. Many not only bring money into smaller communities but also keep tradition alive, such as at Lonach where the peak of activity is where 200 local men take part in the march of the Lonach Highlanders. They parade with eight-foot-long pikes and Lochaber axes through the villages, secured by long standing family lines.

Keep an eye out - you never know, you may even see a PA Scotland Highland Games in the future.
'Mood of the Nation' will be live tonight at 6 pm GMT (1 pm EST). Share this around and I'll see you then, troops.

Today activists from Lothian and Central regions got together in Falkirk to take in the sights then moved on to Linlithgow.

With Indigenous Peoples' Day coming up in just over a fortnight we've put some plans into place to make this year even better than last.

On this day in 1513 James the IV of Scotland agreed to come to the aid of Louis XII of France by declaring war on England. Henry the XIII had invaded France that year and James felt that he had to honour the treaty of mutual aid between Scotland and France known as the Auld Alliance.

James ordered the Scottish navy to join the ships of Louis the VII thus entering Scotland into the War of the League of Cambrai, a war that at one time involved just about every nation in Europe. James made his intentions know to England that he intended to invade Northumbria, a mistake that led to the terrible losses at the Battle of Flodden and James' death.
Mental health, homelessness and housing are just another three things that have become far worse under the SNP leadership.

Between 2013/14 the number of people who are homeless or face losing their homes with mental health problems has risen from 3899 to 7397 in 2021/21. A national disgrace. Child mental health has also become much worse under the SNP with numbers waiting more than a year to access child mental health services rising from 695 in 2020 to a massive 2012 a year later. Mental health in childhood can have devastating effects on. Peoples lives for decades to come and needs addressed quickly and effectively.

There are an estimated 150,000 people on council or housing association waiting lists for homes in Scotland., but the Scottish government is keen to bring yet more "migrants" into the nation and provide them with services and housing. Building more social housing should be a national priority, offering jobs as well as homes. The SNP government is failing the people of Scotland in every way.
It seems in the modern western world that we have forgotten that life is about struggle. The struggle to become a better person, the struggle to build a better nation, the struggle to build better families and futures for them.

Too often we seem to sit back complacently and accept our place in the world and what it has become. We should be challenging ourselves, challenging the slow destruction of our nation and the western world every day.

Progress has become a corrupted word in this world. Progress means, it seems, new depths plunged to, new degeneracy normalised, new "rights" given that take us further down the path of destruction.

Progress is about building yourself up, building those around you up, building a traditional family, building a future away from the mainstream, building your skills.
Indigenous Peoples' Day is fast approaching and we at Patriotic Alternative Scotland have been working away on banners and other media for the day.

This is just one of many that a dedicated activist has been making by hand and doing a great job of it.

Hopefully many other people all across our Nation will get out on the 9th of August and promote the message that

On this day is 1689 the Battle of Killiecrankie in Perthshire took place. It was one of the major battles of the 1689 Scottish Jacobite rising and also a major unexpected victory for the Jacobite forces.

The Jacobite Forces under John Graham, Viscount Dundee faced a far larger and better equipped Government Force commanded by Hugh Mackay. Though victorious, the Jacobite forces received heavy losses including the Viscount Dundee himself killed in the final minutes of the battle.

A famous story that came out of the battle is the story of the soldiers' leap, where a government soldier called Donald McBean was fleeing the battlefield along with many other Government soldiers they reached the River Garry, where the only way to cross its rocky sides and fast flowing water was a 18ft leap across it. McBean, abandoning his musket and hat, made the leap to safety. You can visit the spot to this day.
The stupidity of the Scottish Government hits new heights in their desperation to be "woke" and "progressive".

They are trying to force over 8,000 civil servants to sign off their emails with their chosen pronouns to push for transgender "inclusion". They want pronouns such as they/them or the even more ridiculous "zie" and "zir" used.

Over 60% of civil servants surveyed are against the move, but the Scottish government in yet more authoritarian and illiberal moves seems determined to ignore the will of the people and push it through.
A worrying move from the political elite, who are obviously becoming increasingly worried about the numbers of people opting to withdraw their children from the education system.

They claim it is to make sure children are educated to a acceptable standard. But it fairly obviously has a more sinister purpose in them being able to identify which families are rejecting their increasingly ineffective and degenerate education system. Another way for them to potentially crack down on the increasing resistance in society to their agendas.

In the last year the number of children being formally withdrawn from mainstream education has seen a massive rise to over 40,000 compared to 23,000 in each of the two previous years. It appears more and more want to protect their children from the brainwashing of mainstream education.

We at PA Scotland would encourage people, if they can, to consider homeschooling and have published some work on this available on the main PA website.

On this day in 1909 at Stirling, Frank Barnwell with his brother Harold successfully completed the first powered flight of an aircraft built in Scotland.

Barnwell was born in Lewisham Kent in 1880 and later moved to Balfron, Stirling. His father, Richard, was a Managing Director at Fairfields Shipping and Engineering Co, Govan. He was educated at Fettes College in Edinburgh and first matriculated at Glasgow University in 1900 to study Natural Philosophy and Chemistry. He returned for his second session in 1902 studying Naval Architecture and Engineering. He received a BSc in 1905.

After two years travel abroad following graduation, Frank and his brother Harold founded the Grampian motors and engineering company They built a total of three aircraft in the years 1908-10. They achieved the first powered flight in Scotland at Stirling on July 28, 1909.

Frank joined Bristol Aircraft in 1911, He was responsible for the designs of aircraft such as the Bristol fighter, bulldog and blenheim
Yet another food manufacturing facility in Scotland faces the loss of jobs, potentially 70 out of a workforce of 90 people.

Years ago the likes of bread and biscuits were produced by local firms and sold in the local area .Now all this production is controlled mainly by mulitnationals including in the case of the McVities factory in the East end of Glasgow that faces closure and the loss of 500 jobs by a turkish company. These multinationals are only interested in profit and have no loyalty to the workers that have served them well for years.

Its time that we returned to localism with food and other goods produced in the local market's they are sold in. Local companies run by local People who care not only about their customers but the communiities they are based in as well.

Food security is a major issue for a nation and cant be allowed to be controlled by the faceless corporatiosn that may decide its more cost effective for them to import rather than produce locally. We should produce the food we eat.
This day in Scottish historty was a very significant day in the saga of Mary Queen of Scots. With several important events taking place years apart

In 1565 Mary married her second husband lord Darnley at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. Darnley was her half cousin both having grandparents in common via Mary tudor, the sister of Henry the VIII. Of course the marriage ended in tragedy with Darnley being assasinated after becoming unpopular with Mary and some the lords of Scotland due to his behaviour.

In 1567 , Marys son, james was crowned king of Scotland , after his mother was forced to abdicate the crown,at the age of 13 months in a ceremony at the church of the holy rude in Stirling. The sermon at the church was preached by the Scottish protestant reformer John Knox and James was brought up as a Protestant in the church of Scotland.
The madness of the Scottish Government continues with them tweeting out about "pregnant people" rather than women. The Scottish government seems determined to be the most "woke" government and the laughing stock of Europe.

It's good to see though that several politicians jumped on it and its ridiculousness. The fact is, no matter whether the Scottish government likes it or not, women have babies, not anybody else, and to try to deny that is doing mothers a disservice.

Everyone needs to stand up to this marginalising of women's place in society and the attempted rewriting of reality and nature.
Denmark is planning to return Syrian refugees to Syria due to the improved security situation. Large parts of Syria, especially the capital Damascus, are peaceful with the Syrian Government in control.

But the usual do-gooders and enemies of the European people intend to take Denmark to the European Court of Justice to try to stop the deportations. They are worried that other nations will follow Denmark's example in the future.

Hopefully Denmark will win the case. With there being no reason that "refugees" should not be returned now that the situation is improved in their home countries. Refuge is only supposed to be a temporary measure.

It would be nice to see Scotland and the UK follow Denmark's example but it seems unlikely. Especially here in Scotland under the current regime it seems that such a policy would never be implemented. The Scottish Government seems determined to open the floodgates to immigration from all over the world.
