On this day is Scottish history was the Battle of Inverkeithing which wasfought in 1652.
An English Parliamentary regime had tried and executed Charles I, who was king of both Scotland and England in a personal union, in January 1649. The Scots recognised his son, also Charles, as king of Britain and set about recruiting an army. An English army, under Oliver Cromwell, invaded Scotland in July 1650. The Scottish army, commanded by David Leslie, refused battle until 3 September when it was heavily defeated at the Battle of Dunbar. The English occupied Edinburgh and the Scots withdrew to the choke point of Stirling.
On 17 July 1651, 1,600 English soldiers crossed the Firth of Forth at its narrowest point in specially constructed flat-bottomed boats and landed at North Queensferry on the Ferry Peninsula. The Scots sent forces to pen the English in and the English reinforced their landing. On 20 July the Scots moved against the English and in a short engagement were routed.

This day marks the death of Robert Burns in Dumfries in 1796.
Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796), also known familiarly as Rabbie Burns, the National Bard, Bard of Ayrshire, the Ploughman Poet and various other names and epithets, was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. He is the best known of the poets who have written in the Scots language, although much of his writing is in a "light Scots dialect" of English, accessible to an audience beyond Scotland. He also wrote in standard English, and in these writings his political or civil commentary is often at its bluntest.
In recent years Burns, like many other historical figures, has been attacked over links to slavery. He accepted a job helping to manage a west Indian Plantation but never actually took up the job.

Parkin probed by council for links between the cake and colonialism
Connections between the ginger and treacle cake and colonialism will be probed in research by Leeds City Council

It has been enjoyed as a Yorkshire delicacy since the 18th century.
But parkin - a cake made with ginger and treacle - will now have its international origins examined in a review of local cuisine launched to investigate links to the slave trade.
Connections between the cake and colonialism will be probed in research by Leeds City Council prompted by the Black Lives Matter protests, according to a report seen by The Telegraph.
Parkin is to be reviewed along with other local favourites like Yorkshire Tea over their potentially problematic ingredients.
A council document claims: “Historically, some of the ingredients used to make these ‘local’ products were gained through the triangular slave trade (for example, sugar).”
It appears that even your cake is racist now. Well, at least Laura will get the last laugh, though with the growing success of Granny Towler's tea i am sure she has been having a good giggle anyway. But it seems the council is not only going to probe your Yorkshire cake as racist but Yorkshire Tea itself may be about to be declared a racist, colonial brand. Oh dear.

On this day in 1298, the Battle of Falkirk took place. It was one of the major battles in the First War of Scottish Independence. Led by King Edward I of England, the English army defeated the Scots, led by William Wallace. Shortly after the battle Wallace resigned as Guardian of Scotland.

A perv who sexually assaulted a woman on a train between Dunfermline and Edinburgh Haymarket has avoided prison.
Tulsi Ram Bhandari, 48, was travelling on a service between the locations when he assaulted the woman.
The incident happened at about 1pm on July 13, 2019.
Bhandari, from Dunfermline, was convicted of sexual assault at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on July 15 following a British Transport Police investigation.
He was sentenced to a 150 hours community payback order and placed on the sex offenders register for five years.
It appears if you are of an ethnic persuasion you can sexually assault Scottish women in public and get a community order that is probably less than you would get for graffiti. Where is the justice in Scotland?

On this day in 1745, Prince Charles Edward Stuart, also known as Bonnie Prince Charlie, landed on the Isle of Eriskay. His landing marked the start of the Jacobite Uprising of 1745. On the 19th of August he raised his father's standard at Glenfinnan and raised an army from the Clans that were still loyal to the Jacobite cause to march on Edinburgh.

Fly tipping and just general carelessly discarded rubbish have become a massive problem all across Scotland, not just in cities like Glasgow.
This is why as part of our community outreach program Patriotic Alternative Scotland have been carrying out regular days of action to remove rubbish that is blighting our towns and beauty spots. We would urge anyone who cares about their community and nation to get involved in these activities.

While not really a fan of JK Rowling, it shows you the depths that trans supporting and left wing activists in general will go to.
They are totally intolerant of any views that are outside of what they find acceptable. They have no hesitation in using the threat of violence and in some cases actual physical violence to try to silence anyone they disagree with. They talk of equality and freedom but these things can only be on their very narrow terms.
The intolerant left and its fellow travellers in causes such as trans activism, BLM etc are the real threat to this country.

On this day in 1567. Mary Stuart, also know as Mary Queen of Scots was forced to abdicate the crown of Scotland in favour of her one year old son James. James Stewart, 1st Early of Moray was made Regent.. At this time Mary was held captive in Loch Leven castle. She escaped from the castle in May 1568 and raised an army . The Army met Moray's forces in Battle at Langside which is now in Glasgow. Marys forces were defeated and she fled to England. Mary was a very tragic figure in Scotland's history https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary,_Queen_of_Scots
We are not big fans of Government whether its the SNP or Westminster. Neither act wholly in the best interests of the British people.
But this us good news. Local communities should have control of as many services as possible ,especially in areas where services are at risk. If we want to revitalise our country communities and some of our inner city ones. Making sure that shops, pubs etc are able to stay open and keep trading is vital. Not only to provide services to those areas but also to provide jobs to people who are born and bred there.

West Mids activists spent Saturday in Telford, climbing the Wrekin before enjoying a meal.
We also reminded Telford & Wrekin Council that their serial inaction in response to the sexual enslavement and torture of over 1000+ Telford girls by foreign gangs will not be forgotten.

On this day in 1603, King James VI of Scotland had his coronation at Westminster Abbey in London and became King James I of England and Ireland, uniting the crowns of Scotland and England for the first time.
James ascended to the crown of England after the death of Elizabeth I of England in the early hours of the 24 of March 1603. James was proclaimed king on the same day as her death but was not crowned until July. The sovereign states of England and Scotland were ruled under a personal union but not under a political union until the act of union in 1707. Though James was very supportive of the idea of both being ruled under one Parliament. Under James the plantation of Ulster and the colonisation of the Americas began.

Nationalists should start recruiting in dance and drama classes it appears as they are part of a "white supremacist system", according to the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama. It claims that power is held by white people , too many white faces are in the student body, that the teaching is too centered on the UK and Britishness and this "white supremacist" structure must be dismantled... They must decolonise the white-dominated subjects including dance, drama and skills for circus performers.
Students, it appears, would be able to give feedback on prospective recruits to make sure they are not too white or to white supremacist in their outlook. If you want to be a teacher of dance or drama or study it in the future it appears your chances will be less yet again of getting into a already competitive field if you happen to be born white in a white majority country if the CDD has its way.

Sadly the Highland Games circuit is yet another event that has been badly hit by the pandemic in the last two years.
Around sixty games are held each year and they bring tens of millions of pounds into local communities all across Scotland every year. It looks positive for the future though with games like the Lonach Gathering already planning for next year and has competitors and spectators already booked to come from abroad for 2022.
The Scottish government should do everything it can to make sure these games are in a position to go ahead and thrive for the future. Many not only bring money into smaller communities but also keep tradition alive, such as at Lonach where the peak of activity is where 200 local men take part in the march of the Lonach Highlanders. They parade with eight-foot-long pikes and Lochaber axes through the villages, secured by long standing family lines.
Keep an eye out - you never know, you may even see a PA Scotland Highland Games in the future.
