The Scottish Census that was supposed to take place this year has been pushed back to 2022. Would anyone like to predict what the census will reveal for Scotland?
The census of 2001 showed that 71, 317 people of Asian descent offically lived in Scotland at that time. By the 2011 census that had just about doubled in ten years to 140,678. The number of "Africans" didnt even register in 2001 but by 2011 there were "offically" 29,637 "Africans" in Scotland. In 2001 there were 3707 "Black British/ Scottish "but by 2011 that was 6247. People from the carribean didnt appear on the 2001 census either but by 2011 there were 6540 on the census..Arabs were similar with none on the 2001 census but 9366 in 2011. The white population of Scotland declined from an offical 97.99% in 2001 to 96.02% in 2011.
So can we trust these offical figures? Which group will see the biggest growth in the next census..will.the white population keep declining?

On this day in 1927 the Scottish National War Memorial was opened in Edinburgh Castle. It was commissioned in 1919 and its chief architect was Robert Lorimer. The memorial contains the roll of Scots killed by enemy action or wounds. It lists about 135,000 killed in WW1, over 50,000 killed in WW2 plus casualties from the Malayan Emergency, the Korean War, Northern Ireland, the Falklands War and Gulf Wars.

Hopefully we will not see any more names added to it from wars with fellow Europeans or senseless political/economic-motivated adventures abroad that do not serve our people.

The Scottish goverment is being urged to double child payments once the UC topup is dropped.

What we really need to do is to follow the likes of Viktor Orbán's Hungary where marriage and having a good number of children is encouraged through the financial system. The benefits of course should only be aimed at members of the indigenous population. Tax breaks where the tax-free salary element could be transferred from wife to husband, or extra tax allowances to enable a return to the situation that used to exist in the UK where one salary was able to support a family and the other parent could stay at home would be desirable. Grants that would be used towards expenses such as house purchases on marriage and non-repayable once a certain number of children are born would also be another incentive.

There are many more that could be put in place to not only encourage a return to traditional family life but also boost the indigenous population. Of course with this current political system it won't happen.

A day late with this piece of British Nationalist History. John Tyndall was born 14th July 1934.

John Hutchyns Tyndall (14 July 1934 - 19 July 2005) was a British political activist. A leading member of various small Nationalist groups during the late 1950s and 1960s, he was chairman of the National Front (NF) from 1972 to 1974 and again from 1975 to 1980, and then chairman of the British National Party (BNP) from 1982 to 1999. He unsuccessfully stood for election to the House of Commons and European Parliament on several occasions.

Born in Devon and educated in Kent, Tyndall undertook national service prior to embracing nationalism. In the mid-1950s, he joined the League of Empire Loyalists (LEL) and came under the influence of its leader, Arthur Chesterton. Finding the LEL too moderate, in 1957 he and John Bean founded the National Labour Party (NLP), an explicitly "National Socialist" group.

In 1960, the NLP merged with Colin Jordan's White Defence League to found the first British National Party (BNP). Within the BNP, Tyndall and Jordan established a paramilitary wing called Spearhead, which angered Bean and other party members. They expelled Tyndall and Jordan, who went on to establish the National Socialist Movement and then the international World Union of National Socialists. After a split with Jordan, Tyndall formed his Greater Britain Movement (GBM) in 1964. Although never changing his basic beliefs, by the mid-1960s,

In 1967, Tyndall joined Chesterton's newly founded National Front (NF) and became its leader in 1972, overseeing growing membership and electoral growth. His leadership was threatened by various factions within the party which eventually led to him losing his position as leader in 1974. He resumed this position in 1975, although the latter part of the 1970s saw the party's prospects decline. Following an argument with long-term comrade Martin Webster, Tyndall resigned from the party in 1980 and formed his short-lived New National Front (NNF). In 1982, he merged the NNF into his own newly formed British National Party (BNP). Under Tyndall, the BNP established itself as the UK's most prominent Nationalist group during the 1980s, although electoral success eluded it. Tyndall's refusal to moderate the BNP's policies or image caused anger among a growing array of "modernisers" in the party, who ousted him in favour of Nick Griffin in 1999. In 2005, Tyndall was charged with incitement to racial hatred for comments made at a BNP meeting. He died two days before his trial was due to take place.

Tyndall promoted a racial nationalist belief in a distinct white "British race", arguing that this race was threatened by a Jewish conspiracy to encourage non-white migration into Britain. He called for the establishment of an authoritarian state which would deport all non-whites from the country, engage in a eugenics project, and re-establish the British Empire through the military conquest of parts of Africa. He never gained any mainstream political respectability in the United Kingdom although he proved popular among sectors of the British far-right.

McCown it seems was a Confederate general.

The gypsy ant and oriental rat flea apparently must not be named either, amongst a growing number of names that campaigners are pushing to be changed.

Its laudable that the Scottish government is actually trying to do something to save traditional Scottish culture. But the things they propose, like every government sign in English and Gaelic and promoting its use in Government, is tokenism. They need to actually invest in keeping the communities where its spoken alive and vital with growing numbers of children in the areas and able to stay in the areas.

Every year millions are spent on languages such as Urdu, Punjabi, Swahili etc and promoting the culture of incomers. We also see money being poured into LGBT events and promotion of their lifestyles. That money should be spent on our culture and our history. Our history needs promoted in schools rather than that of incomers, as is proposed.

That money should be spent on languages such as Gaelic, Scots and Doric and on building those communities. We need our culture celebrated and invested in. We need to preserve our traditions, not rush to modernity and become "World Citizens" as the governments want.

On this day in Scottish history we mark the death of Adam Smith.

Adam Smith lived from 5 June 1723 to 17 July 1790. He was a hugely influential political economist and moral philosopher whose book An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations founded the modern academic discipline of economics. Adam Smith was the son of the Controller of the Customs at Kirkcaldy in Fife, though his father had died some months before Adam was born. As a 4 year old he was kidnapped by Gypsies, before being quickly rescued by his uncle and returned to his mother.

In 1737, at the aged of 14, Adam went to the University of Glasgow, where he studied moral philosophy under Francis Hutcheson. Here he founded his strong beliefs in liberty, reason and free speech. In 1740 he received a Snell Scholarship, under which Glasgow University students could study at Balliol College, Oxford.

Some have argued that this was a sign he was destined for the clergy (given the stated aims of the scholarship), but he returned from Oxford having abandoned his religious beliefs.

From 1748 Smith was commissioned by Lord Kames to give a series of public lectures at the University of Edinburgh. These covered a variety of subjects, but included themes such as "the progress of opulence" and "the obvious and simple system of natural liberty" which were to form the foundations of his later work. In about 1750 Smith met David Hume, whose ideas meshed closely with his own.

Adam Smith returned to Glasgow University in 1751, taking up the Chair of Logic. The following year he became Chair of Moral Philosophy. Areas covered in his courses included ethics, rhetoric, jurisprudence, political economy, and "police and revenue". In 1759 Smith published The Theory of Moral Sentiments drawing on his Glasgow lectures. The book established Smith's reputation as a leading thinker of his day.

In 1763 Smith was offered a well paid position as tutor to the young Duke of Buccleuch. Between 1764 and 1766 Adam and his pupil travelled widely across Europe, coming into contact with many renowned academics of the day, including Voltaire, Rousseau, Franklin, Turgot, Jean D'Alembert, André Morellet, Helvétius and Francois Quesnay.

Smith returned to Kirkcaldy in 1766, and spent most of the next decade writing An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations, which was published in 1776. The book was written for the average educated individual of the day rather than for specialists, making it widely accessible. This in turn helped ensure its considerable success.

The Wealth of Nations became one of the most influential books ever written. It is a well written account of the state of the political economy at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution; makes a comprehensive case for free market policies; and is generally accepted to be the first modern work in the field of economics. Its five books were published as two volumes. At a stroke, all earlier work in the field was defunct, and academics turned their attention to the development of Smith's ideas into what became known as Classical Economics. This in turn (by very different routes) formed the basis of Modern Economics and Marxist Economics. The ideas behind the book are best summed up in a single quote:

"It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages."

In 1778 Adam Smith became Commissioner of Customs in Scotland and lived with his mother in Edinburgh. He died on 17 July 1790, and was buried in the kirkyard of Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh's Royal Mile. At the time of his death he is thought to have been working on two books, one on the theory and history of law, and one on the sciences and arts. However he left instructions that his literary executors, scientist Joseph Black and geologist James Hutton, were to destroy any manuscripts or notes not immediately fit for publication. His Essays on Philosophical Subjects was posthumously published in 1795, but there is a widespread belief that a great deal of valuable work that should have been kept, was destroyed under the terms of his will.

Adam Smith's memory lives on in many ways. The Adam Smith Institute, based in London since 1977, is "Britain’s leading innovator of free-market economic and social policies." At a more everyday level, Smith's picture also appears on the £50 note that has been issued since 2003 by Scotland's Clydesdale Bank. And from Spring 2007 he appears on the Bank of England £20 note, the first Scotsman ever to have his picture on a Bank of England note.

In many ways the free market has been bad for our Nations, but we must acknowledge how a Scot like Smith has had a major influence on the world around us. We must look beyond the unrestrained free market policies of the last decades to a system that will benefit all the people of our country.

There is clearly something wrong with the legal system in Scotland when a serial rapist is free to walk the streets after 6 years. When someone who is convicted of multiple rapes including against a 15 year old girl receives only 9 and a half years in jail. Sentencing needs to be looked at and early release stopped.

Rape and sexual assault are a growing problem within our country with low conviction rates. its time that more resources and legal changes were made to better protect the women of our country and give them justice. Rape can have a lifelong devastating effect on people's lives, even leading to some to take their own lives.
