Initially, yesterday’s attack on the Police Training Center in Dera Ismail Khan was claimed by TTP through its affiliated media, which the group commonly uses to take responsibility for attacks. The incident was also included in the group’s official Umar media sheet, which documents their daily activities.
However, later, TTP spokesperson Muhammad Khorasani released a statement claiming that the attack in Dera Ismail Khan was mistakenly included in their reports and had no connection to the TTP.
A few moments ago, the TTP-affiliated media, which typically claims responsibility for attacks, issued another statement confirming that the group’s suicide attackers had been involved. The statement added that the attack had concluded and the militants had been killed.

A previously unknown militant group calling itself the Tahafuz-e-Emarat Islami Force (TIF) has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack on the Police Training Center in Dera Ismail Khan.
In a statement released to the media, the group’s spokesperson Abu Khalid Usmani said that TIF millitant Abdullah Zubair, a native of Khyber Agency, detonated a vehicle-borne explosive device at the main gate, enabling other militants to enter the compound and launch the assault.
The statement also criticized another militant group for claiming responsibility for the same attack, terming it “completely unjust.”
TIF may be a shadow or front organization of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—similar to the Tehrik-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP), which emerged in 2023 and claimed several high-profile attacks. Such groups are often believed to be used by the TTP to claim or deny attacks based on political or strategic considerations, particularly to ease pressure on the Afghan Taliban.
