-UPDATE: It was a multi-layered, complex militant attack that commenced on the night of 6 October, when a large group of militants affiliated with the TTP Kurram Chapter, under the command of Darwish Wazir, launched an assault on the Jogee Post in the Dogar area of Kurram District.

The post came under heavy and sustained fire throughout the night and the following day, as the militants encircled the position and engaged in continuous exchange of fire with the defending troops. The attackers were equipped with heavy weaponry, including Recoilless Rifles (R.R 82), Rocket Launchers, Grenade Launchers (GLs), Light Machine Guns (LMGs), and Sniper Rifles.

Later, a convoy returning from the post towards Thall was ambushed near the Sama Bazaar Bridge by militants linked to the TTP Kurram Chapter’s shadow commander, Kazim. In response, the Wing Commander’s convoy moved out to reinforce and support the ambushed party. However, on the night of 7 October, as the convoy reached Ali Sher Zai, Central Kurram, along the Thall–Orakzai Road, it came under a well-coordinated ambush from multiple directions by another TTP group led by associates of Muhammad Khorasani.

The multi-pronged and coordinated militant assault resulted in 11 fatalities, including two officers, while three personnel sustained injuries and five remain unaccounted for. As per TTP-affiliated media sources, the militants also suffered at least four fatalities during the engagement.
