-🇵🇰/🏳️/🇦🇫/🏴: Unconfirmed Reports Regarding Nuristan

On August 11, Pakistan Army-affiliated sources reported internal conflicts among Taliban factions. According to these sources, intelligence related to the Zhob taskheel of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was allegedly shared by the Afghan Taliban with Pakistani authorities as a counterterrorism measure. This intelligence exchange reportedly escalated tensions between pro-TTP and anti-TTP Taliban groups in Nuristan, Afghanistan, culminating in violent clashes involving heavy weaponry, including the use of drones.

Simultaneously, TTP-affiliated channels claimed that Pakistani drones launched two missiles targeting Barg-e-Matal in the Kamdesh district of Nuristan province. They reported that no casualties resulted from the strike.

Meanwhile, the Iranian IRGC affiliated news agency "Tasnim," citing unnamed sources, reported a Pakistani drone attack in Nuristan. The agency noted that in recent months, TTP militants have frequently conducted operations against Pakistani security forces in the Chitral region. Tasnim suggested that this alleged drone strike was a retaliatory measure by Pakistan, aimed at targeting TTP-affiliated individuals within Nuristan.

To date, neither the Taliban leadership nor local officials have issued any statements confirming or denying these reports. Contrarily, Pakistan Army channels have categorically denied any drone strikes in Nuristan.

Both the Taliban and Pakistani authorities remain silent on these conflicting reports, leaving the situation unconfirmed and unclear.

-🇷🇺/🇦🇫/🇵🇰/🇹🇷/🏴: MONITORING

One of the attackers involved in the assault on the "Crocus City Hall" concert venue near Moscow had previously traveled to Afghanistan to receive training in terrorism and sabotage. According to case files obtained by the Russian news agency TASS, this individual entered Afghanistan using forged travel documents.

The documents reveal that Saidakrami Rachabalizoda was directed by militant leaders to undergo specialized training within the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. He reportedly crossed into Afghanistan from Turkey, passing through Pakistan while using counterfeit identification.

The extremist group known as "Wilayat Khorasan," an affiliate of the Islamic State, reportedly established multiple cells tasked with carrying out the attack on Crocus City Hall. The operatives were initially strangers and only connected during the final stages of the plot. For example, Rachabalizoda met his co-conspirator Shamsidin Fariduni in Istanbul before they both traveled to Russia. Other members of the network were located in the Moscow region, Yekaterinburg, and Kaspiysk.

CONTEXT:
The Crocus City Hall attack occurred on March 22, 2024, at a concert venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, Russia. Four gunmen associated with the Islamic State – Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) carried out a coordinated assault, opening fire on concertgoers, setting the venue on fire with incendiary devices, and conducting slashing attacks. It resulted in 145 deaths, including those who later died in hospitals, and 551 injuries, with nearly half of the victims succumbing to smoke and carbon monoxide inhalation from the fire. The attack was the deadliest terrorist incident in Russia since the 2004 Beslan school siege.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility through its Amaq News Agency, releasing a video showing the attackers shooting and killing victims.

Three soldiers lost their lives when their vehicle was ambushed near Ali Zai in Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where they had been deployed for the security of a Chehlum (Shia observance) procession in Parachinar. Sources said the attackers used rocket-propelled grenades, and the soldiers’ weapons were missing after the incident.

Kurram district has long been a hotspot of sectarian violence between Sunni and Shia communities. After months of unrest, a fragile peace had recently been achieved through extensive reconciliation efforts. However, tensions have flared once again.

A few days ago, a Shia resident of Parachinar in Kurram was mysteriously killed in Bushehra, a Sunni-majority area. On Monday, another man, identified as Qadar Gul from Bushehra village, was shot dead in the same locality. Sunni residents accused Tehran Turi — a Shia militant commander associated with the Liwa Zainebiyoun — of involvement, calling for retaliation. Shia community members, however, denied the allegations, insisting the killing was linked to a personal feud.

So far, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) linked channels has remained silent on the attack targeting security forces.

-🇦🇫/🏴: ALERT Several Taliban-affiliated channels reported that ISKP leader Musa, along with two of his companions, was killed today in Darah Noor, Nangarhar
-🇦🇫/🏴: PakPluse Intel highlights that Musa, a former Taliban commander, is currently leading the ISIS-Khorasan group in Dara Noor district in North of Nangarhar Province. Originally from Shemel village in the district, Musa has become a key figure in ISIS operations in the area.

He was reportedly responsible for a bombing in August 2024 that targeted a Taliban ranger vehicle in Dara Noor. The attack killed six students of a religious seminary and injured one other student along with four members of the group, according to the Taliban.

During the republican period, Musa initially joined the Taliban and carried out multiple attacks in Dara Noor before surrendering to the government. Sources indicate that he joined ISIS-Khorasan prior to the Taliban’s rise to power following the fall of the republican system. Musa also has experience in the group’s intelligence wing.

Musa’s brother, Amir Mohammad Darah Nori, previously served as a member of the Nangarhar Provincial Council and was a local tribal leader. Despite Taliban claims on February 4, 2023, that Musa and three ISIS members had been killed during an operation, local sources maintain that he is alive and currently leading ISIS in the district. Now, reports of his death have resurfaced.

Confirmation of Musa’s recent killing from official sources is still pending.

A statement is circulating on channels affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claiming that the group is active throughout Khyber. The statement warned residents of Marikhel against alleged spying or supporting government officials, citing severe consequences.

It should be noted that TTP’s targeted killings of civilians accused of spying remain a significant concern in Khyber district. During the most recent jirga between Qamar Khel and TTP representatives, this issue was highlighted as a major point of concern. There have also been internal disagreements within TTP—particularly between Jammat-ul-Ahrar and the main TTP faction—over the practice of targeting civilians. Last month, Jammat-ul-Ahrar, through its official media wing Ghazi Media, issued a statement cautioning individuals involved in targeted killings and highlighting potential repercussions.
