Both IMP and TTP media outlets claimed responsibility for their militants involvement in today’s exchange of fire in Sardi Khel, Bannu. This is the third instance where both groups have reported participation in the same attack, all of them taking place in Bannu district.

Meanwhile, IMP stated that its fighters launched the assault in Khyber district in coordination with a “brother organization,” likely referring to TTP without directly naming it. The first such acknowledgment of joint action was previously reported in Orakzai district.

Meanwhile, TTP has also claimed responsibility for the Khyber attack but made no mention of any other group’s involvement.

According to security sources, Abdul Razaq alias “Nako,” a senior field commander and key logistics conduit for the BLA, was eliminated in a precision operation along the Pakistan-Iran border during the night of October 1–2.

Razaq, long concealed in the border village of Pir, was regarded as a hardened militant leader who routinely maneuvered with a convoy of 20–25 armed fighters and retained a dedicated close-protection unit of 8–10 gunmen. He was recognized as an IED and landmine specialist, directly responsible for the production and supply of explosive materiel used in multiple sabotage operations across Balochistan.

Intelligence dossiers further identified him as the principal supplier of explosives to several BLA commanders, including Dil Jan alias “Lal” and Shahak alias “Hamal.”

During the decisive engagement, security forces executed a targeted strike on Razaq and his protective detachment, resulting in his neutralization.

In a statement issued by Tehrik‑e‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesperson Muhammad Khorasani, the group condemned the formation of Peace Committees in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, portraying them as a state initiative aimed at undermining Pashtun religious and cultural identity and facilitating the seizure of local land and resources. The communiqué adopted an ethnonationalist tone designed to win local support, explicitly addressing Taus Khel and Hati Khel of Domel in Bannu and communities in Swat. It warned that cooperation with such committees — and any division between the nation and millitans — would lead to “destruction.”
