Afghanistan’s Acting Minister of Education, Habibullah Agha, has acknowledged that the country’s airspace remains under U.S. control, with American drones carrying out nightly patrols.

Addressing students at a seminar in Paktika on Sunday, Agha said: “The country’s airspace is still occupied, and U.S. drones patrol Afghanistan’s skies at night. However, neither you nor I have the means to stop them.”

He added that while other nations have advanced technology, Afghanistan continues to rely on foreign assistance for basic needs, including doctors and medicine.

His remarks represent a rare admission by the Taliban of U.S. drone activity in Afghanistan, contradicting the group’s repeated denials in the past.
