The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) released a detailed statement claiming responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military convoy on Wednesday, 18 September 2025, at Kanchti Cross in the Dasht area of Kech district, Balochistan.
According to the groupβs spokesman, Jeyand Baloch, the convoy consisted of six buses that had arrived in Gwadar from Karachi the previous day and was heading toward Turbat when it was ambushed by the BLAβs βMajid Brigade.β
According to the statement, the attack began with a vehicle-borne explosion, when a militant identified as Altaf (alias Chakar) rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the convoyβs main bus. Following the blast, other militants moved into the area and engaged the forces.
The statement further identified three of the five BLA fighters killed in the attack:
-Altaf, son of Abdul Rahman, from Alandur in Belida, who joined the BLA in 2023.
-Gharam (alias Zagrin), son of Farooq, from Lagarok in Prom, Panjgur, who also joined in 2023.
-Khalil (alias Kalmir), son of Fazal, from Sami in Balochi Bazaar, Turbat, who became part of the BLA in 2023.
The attack, the group said, comes amid Pakistan and Chinaβs efforts to have the BLA and its Majid Brigade formally designated as terrorist organizations by the United Nations.
