Today, sources affiliated with the army reported multiple operations targeting Baloch militants across Balochistan, including Kech, Mastung, Tamp, Panjgur, Turbat, and Mach. The authorities claim that a total of 66 militants were killed, though these figures remain unverified, and the full outcome of the operations is yet to be confirmed.
These operations coincide with the 19th anniversary of the death of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, a key figure in Baloch history, on August 26. Last year, on the 18th anniversary, the BLA carried out a series of attacks, dubbed “Haruf,” targeting police stations, railway tracks, highways, and army camps, which resulted in 73 deaths, including 38 civilians, 14 Pakistani soldiers, and 21 militants.
Given the potential threat of similar coordinated attacks this year, security forces appear to have launched preemptive operations in multiple locations to mitigate the risk.

Army sources have confirmed that two strikes were conducted in the Narmi Khel and Musa Khel areas of Baka Khel, Bannu. The targets included the Hujra of former PTI minister Shah Muhammad Wazir and Guraai High School, which the Army claims were being used as compounds by Sadiqullah Gurbaz’s group and TTP militants.
Meanwhile, TTP commander Ariana acknowledged the strikes but stated that none of his men were harmed and that they remain safe.
It is worth noting that the Army has recently intensified operations against Sadiqullah Gurbaz’s group, Jabhat Ansar al-Mahdi Khorasan, responsible for several high-profile attacks on security forces, including the recent FC line attack in Bannu. Recently, a senior military commander of the group, Umar Mansoor, who led Al Badr’s “suicide brigade”, was killed in Baka Khel.

Last night, an exchange of bodies took place between security forces and TTP militants. The militants handed over the remains of seven Frontier Corps personnel who had been martyred three days ago in Lower Dir district and had been in their possession since then. In return, the forces handed over 12 bodies of militants: nine who were killed recently during an infiltration in Mohmand, including the body of Commander Wazir, and two from Bajaur who were killed two days ago.
Additionally, another body was handed over from Bajaur, that of a commander named Faridullah, who was actually killed on April 27. He was the son of TTP founding member Faqir Muhammad and the current deputy chief of Bajaur district—a handover that had been specifically requested by the militants.

In recent days, Waziristan has seen a sharp rise in targeted killings and abductions of civilians.
The latest incident took place in the Khumrang area of Lower South Waziristan, where the beheaded body of 21-year-old Kamran Khan was recovered. According to local sources, Kamran had been abducted by unidentified gunmen a day earlier. His body was later found in nearby forests, riddled with bullets and decapitated.
During the same week in Lower Waziristan (Wana), three other kidnappings were reported, involving a contractor, a businessman, and a 12-year-old boy.
Today, in Wana Bazaar, armed men abducted another youth, Suleman Khan, son of Niamatullah, from a street and took him to an undisclosed location.
Just days earlier, in the Shewa area of North Waziristan, a mentally challenged man, Muhammadullah Mehsud, who had been suffering from illness for nearly two decades, was brutally killed after being accused of spying. He had reportedly escaped from Khwaja Younas Hospital in Peshawar, but due to negligence, his family was not informed in time, leaving him exposed to grave danger.

Today, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility, marking their second attack in Karachi this September, the first having occurred on September 11.
In August, TTP claimed five attacks in Karachi. Additionally, a TTP sub-faction, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, claimed an attack in Fakira Goth on the Karachi Super Highway, which killed four people. While the group described the victims as informers, media reports identified them as civilians.

A few days ago, a large jirga of the Taujay Khel tribe was held in the Kadi Kot area of South Waziristan, attended by the tribe’s elders, religious scholars, and youth. The jirga was led by Malik Jamil Khan and Faqir Qari Shabbir Ahmad Khan.
During the jirga, the tribe called on individuals involved with armed groups, including TTP and TTG, to either return to civilian life or leave the area, aiming to prevent displacement of the local population.
The Taujay Khel also agreed on a three-point plan to address illegal activities, including extortion and target killings. The statement emphasized that violations of the agreement would result in tribal measures such as house demolition, expulsion from the area, and property confiscation.
The jirga further urged other local communities, including the Ahmadzai Wazir tribe, to manage their members to maintain security and stability across the region. According to the statement, Wana’s territorial limits ,from the Angur Adda border to Machan Baba Ziarat , would not tolerate illegal activity, and the tribe expressed unity in enforcing this.
In response, HGB commander Hussain from Lower South Waziristan released a video warning the tribes against supporting any actions perceived as opposing armed groups. He specifically mentioned Malik Jamil and also addressed other tribes in the region.
